I think this is one of the best view in Tuscany, especially at sureise and sunset. You can see the whole valley as far as the eye can see. One of the easier towns to park in Tuscany too!

Good spot to take in the views , take some beautiful pictures , sit down on the benches ...
That's what vacation is all about...we were staying in the center of town, so did not even realized that there were escalators available. Well, that is progress ....and totally unexpected in this ancient town.
There are views all around, here you are about midpoint.
There is more, if you have the stamina and the will...climb higher..it will take you breath away.
Absolutely worth it....

Fantastic views over countryside and city suspended on a hillside. Great place to spend time and watch the world around you.

We really enjoyed our visit to Cortona. The people, food and views were amazing! When I look back on the photos taken, they do little to capture the beauty the eyes did behold. Important to really be present in the moment so you can fully enjoy the memories of the quaint village.

Pick up a gelato from nearby Gelato Ti Amo (see review) or a Pizza al taglio from next door (didn't try but lots of locals went there to get pizza), and come have it here around sunset time; maybe also get a bottle of local wine. Perfection.

This is a great place to view the all area, you can park outside of the city, and use the escalators to get there.

We drove the narrow, windy road up to Cortona. We parked in a lot and took an escalator up to the top- what a pleasant surprise to find an escalator! When you arrive at the top you are treated to the most spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside. Enjoy it! From there walk into the beautiful village of Cortona. Be sure and get off the Main Street and get a taste of the real Cortona. Main Street can be a bit touristy. We loved Cortona!

You only need to park your car at the entrance of Cortona, then you'll see this balcony like place.
