It is one of the main squares of Cortona. It is overlooked by the homonymous theater and Palazzo Casali, seat of M.A.E.C. (Museum of the Etruscan Academy of the city of Cortona). Ideal place to have lunch, as I did.

Every Saturday this piazza is full of booths selling fruits, vegetables, books, antiques, etc. Lots of fun to browse.

This is a fairly large but unusually shaped Piazza that is on a slope and has a number of streets that lead into and off it. It is adjacent to the Piazza della Repubblica and it appears that before the 12th century both this Piazza and the Piazza della Repubblica were actually one square.
There are a number of buildings of note that surround the Piazza including the Signorelli Theatre, the Municipal Palace and the Casali Palace. There are also a number of cafes and restaurants where you can eat and/or drink and people watch.
There is a very good gelato shop called Gelateria Snoopy in one corner of the Piazza.

There is so much in Cortona paying tribute to Luca Signorelli who lived here in the 1500s. This piazza at the centre of town encapsulates so much of the look and feel of Cortona. A must.

Luca Signorelli, who was born in Cortona in the 15th century, was one of the leading artists of the Italian Renaissance, well known for his portraying of the human anatomy. The nice square, named after him, is famous for its Palazzo Casali, which is the seat of the Etruscan Academy and the wonderful Teatro Signorelli, built in the 19th century in the Neoclassical style.

One of two beautiful piazzas in the center of Cortona up a steep walk from the parking at the edge of the old city. This is a quite touristy but very lovely small city on a hilltop. This piazza is in the very center of town.

This square is the second of the Cortona, its neighbor overlooked by the town hall and more contained, while Piazza Signorelli is a little bigger! It overlooks the theater, museum, bar shop etc etc! In short, it is not Cortona's living room, but it makes a good impression. On Saturday there is also the local Point of Sale where we could eat typical things from a truck, and they were delicious! Good square to you people of TripAdvisor.

April 2023- I want to spend a few words for this square contiguous to the most famous Republic Square and I could appreciate just for a walk-
Here in the small square you can breathe the essence of the medieval Tuscan town village, here also overlook the theater of the same name with its beautiful loggia and Palazzo Casali.
