No matter where you go in Italy you will find a church and yes everyone is different, so here again you must visit them all.

This is a quaint little church situated at the top of the rock. Lots and lots of steps but worth the coolness of the interior and amazing view when you get to the top.

I didn’t expect to see a church so beautiful at the top of a cliff! The ceiling is completely out of rock and you can see this the minute you enter!

We took a bus up to near the top and walked the rest of the way and then hiked down. The church is lovely and there were quite a few people there to light candles and pray, so I didn't want to be rude and...More

from the center of town takes about 30 minutes to climb up all the steps to get to the top. Lovely views along the way as well as the stations of the cross statues. Not for wheelchair bond or folks who have difficulty walking. Beautiful...More

Climbed up the long way which involved some walking on the roadway but mostly walking up a very, very long set of old steps. This was beautiful every moment of the way. The Saracen Castle was just above the church. Once there we found a...More

Finding the path from Corso Umberto required google maps but once climbing the steps every pause was rewarded with another stunning view. The Chapel provided a quiet place of recuperation after the climb and the photographs a perpetual reminder of the extraordinary views. We did...More

The climb up isn’t too tiring if you pace yourself. You are rewarded with increasingly spectacular views of Taormina, the coast and Etna. The view at the top is tremendous. The church itself is carved out of the rock and is a peaceful place. Recommended.

It takes some courage to climb it by foot but the reward is so worth it. Incredible view of Taormina, Etna, the coastline of East Sicily from the top. Best time to go is early morning.

My partner was hesitant about tackling the stairs but it was well worth the climb. The views of Taormina are absolutely stunning and if you want you can then catch the local bus back down for less than 2 eurowhich is an experience in itself.

No you can get a taxi up. The people getting married may have organised a mini bus for guests, think that's what usually happens.
