    Yummy calzone
We found this restaurant before we went to tour the Amphitheater in Taormina. There were 8 of us and we were lucky to find the perfect table. Between the group we had calzone, pizza, salads and a veal cutlet with fries. All the food was hot and tasty. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The service was a little slow, but the attendants were friendly and helpful.

    Lovely Food… however !!!
Food very good but they need to work on the front of house service. I totally understand it can be a long shift for them. But asking for an additional plate and being made to feel uncomfortable by the waiter staring at you is totally unacceptable. Lovely food but certainly not sn enjoyable experience.

    A Very Special Experience!
Such an amazing dining experience for all in our group. We made arancini appetizers under the chef's instruction and were able to eat all that we had prepared. What a fun event! The dinner of fish was outstanding with delicious salad and condiments and breads. No one went hungry and the musicians playing live music for us added to an enchanted evening

The best lunch we have had in Taormina!
An absolutely fabulous lunch - best Caesar salad and pizza we have had in Taormina. Fabrizio was our waiter and he was extremely fast and friendly! And the music was amazing. The best lunch we have had so far. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely horrible food, ordered a pizza Calzone and a mixed salad. OMG never seen food so bad, even a child can do the pizza better then what was offered. Basically I was served bread, ham and water, see pictures. Customers toilet is inside kitchen with human waste all over the toilet and some on the wall, itself, toilet door wide open staff cooking few feet away, none of kitchen staff wearing any gloves. Absolutely discussed

Waiters chose who to give free appetisers to which was downright rude.

Our food did not arrive at the same time. There were 3 of us and our pasta arrived in 3 stages !

Food was good but portions tiny.

Waiters were too busy flirting than waiting.

Multiple clients were bribed with free limochello to leave a good review whilst being forced to write the Waiters name, in this case 'riccardo'/ richard.
(The majority of the clients that were bribed were women and/or American)

I took the cannoli and pizza making classes and they were both wonderful! Maurizio was such an amazing teacher and created a fun environment! One of the highlight of my trip to Taormina and I highly recommend learning from Maurizio. Good company, good wine, and great food!

There are two town gates: Porta Messina and Porta Catania. Porto Messina is on the way to the Ancient Theater (Greek colosseum) and was part of a defensive fortification. Construction dates to King Ferdinand circa early 1800's.

No Old Town is complete without town gates and loads of churches. This one delivers but, in reality, there is not much else to say about it.

Taormina has two medieval gates: Porta Messina and Porta Catania. The main street, Corso Umberto connects them. We walked there from the Greek Theatre. It’s an important historical monument and the beginning of the main street. It’s a must see.

Awful food. The lasagna was dried out and burnt. Frozen lasagna is better and this is an Italian restaurant. Pizza was cold and soggy. I was sick from this garbage the next day. Service was just as bad as the food. Absolute worst dining experience in an area that offers hundreds of other amazing restaurants. AVOID!!!!

Porta Messina is the entrance gate to town once you leave the parking garage. The piazza around the gate is a pleasant open space where you can gather your group together and discuss your plans for the next few hours.
