    What a Fantastic Experience!!!
We were on a Sicily tour with several others. Louisa and her team of 3 ladies could not have made us feel more welcome. To spend an afternoon in Louisa’s home was like visiting old friends. The meal was absolutely AMAZING! The atmosphere was Sicilian perfect! It was absolutely a highlight of the trip and can only hope we will return to her villa someday and stay longer. An afternoon that we will always remember!!! Paula and Luigi Leonette

    Wonderful Experience
Louisa gave us a very warm welcome upon our arrival at her beautiful Villa. Her authentic Sicilian cooking class was top notch from beginning to end! We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and learned so much. Also appreciated hearing about Louisa’s family history as it pertains to the Villa, while enjoying our delicious meal on the terrace, overlooking the Taormina lights. Such a wonderful highlight to our Taormina visit!

    Exceptional cooking experience.
This was our favorite experience from our 10 day trip to Amalfi and Taormina, Italy. Louisa and Elvira were gracious hosts and the food we prepared was delicious. The history of the home is fun as well. If you get a chance, please go!

    Wonderful cooking experience!
We stayed at the Villa Britannia B & B and signed up for an evening cooking class with Luisa. We thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience. The class was small (there were 7 of us) which allowed for intimate conversations, lots of sharing and laughing. Luisa is a delight - engaging, passionate and knowledgeable about all things Sicilian. It was an informative learning experience that enhanced our appreciation of Sicilian cuisine and the history behind some of the recipes. We would strongly recommend it and hope to return. Thank you so much Luisa for a wonderful evening and an incredible cooking experience. Margaret and Sandro

    Sicilian cooking in Taormina!
My sister and I spent a delightful day with Louisa and her staff learning how to prepare Sicilian specialties. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. We sat at a lovely table and ate the three dishes we prepared: one pasta and two fish courses. Louisa served us a glass of wine selected for each course. Fish is of course king in Sicilian cuisine. The tuna and swordfish we ate were delicious! Villa Britannia is situated high in the hills of Taormina, and the view of the Ionian My Sea is glorious!

    A hidden gem in Taormina!
A highlight of our Sicilian journey! Fun, delicious, instructive in equal measure. Luisa made us feel right at home in her lovely house with rich history! (Her dad delivered ice to Truman capote for the gin and tonics!). Elvira was an excellent teacher. The vegetables were sent from heaven. We had one of the finest meals of our Sicilian visit at Luisa’s table. This experience is not to be missed!!!!

We did a 7-day drive of Sicily in September. Friends told us of Villa Britannia and the ‘Truman Capote’ room. Fortunately, we got a reservation and looked forward to spending the night. As has been mentioned by many reviewers, driving in Sicily and particularly Taormina is challenging. However, Louisa sent us a 7-minute video from the highway to her home! It was perfect! Louisa was waiting for us and graciously gave us the family, neighborhood and her home’s history. Quite fascinating. The view from the TC room is spectacular. Their home (Louisa and Marco) is tastefully decorated with historical photos and local art. She suggested a local restaurant that was exceptional.
The following morning, I joined two house guests with Louisa and Chef Elvira for their three-hour Sicilian Cooking Class. It was a delightful and educational culinary adventure. The classroom was perfect for the five of us. Our stations were fully supplied with our tools. Louisa facilitated the class as Chef did not speak English, though her long culinary experience and skills spoke larger than words. Louisa encouraged our questions and gave insights to local food and substitutes for what we have in America. Our three hours went quickly including enjoying eating the recipes we made. Paired with delicious Sicilian wines made the class a highlight of our travels. And when we got home all our recipes were in my mailbox for me practice and share my experience with friends and family. Can’t wait to return. Grazie Mille Andrew

If you are visiting Taormina a cooking class at Villa Britannia is a MUST! My family and I did a private class with Louisa and Chef Elvira during our stay. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that we will never forget! Louisa was a prefect hostess and made us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. She made a point to ask us each our names, engaged us throughout the class and meal, and shared the personal history on the Villa and how she got started. It is clear that she is so passionate about what she does and it really shined through throughout the night. Louisa and Chef Elvira gave us an incredible hands-on experience making delicious arancini, pasta, swordfish, and veal. Chef Elvira also prepared the most delightful dessert for us that was presented immaculately and had all of us dreaming about it the next day. The Villa was also stunning, from the view from the terrace to the table where we ate was so beautiful with fresh flowers and wine pairings by Louisa. This experience was truly a 100000/10!

We had an absolutely magical evening with Louisa and her team at Villa Britannia. It was in Mid August 2020 so Covid-19 protections were in full effect - we were the only family taking part in the class, masks were worn for the indoor components, but not required on the beautiful terrace.
It was a relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of relaxing between cooking components - just the right balance.
The Villa Britannia is a very special place and Louisa and her team effortlessly put you at your ease, make you feel welcome and at home.
Hope we see you again soon if we visit the gorgeous Taormina again some day.

Our tour group spent the afternoon learning some great Italian recipes. The activity was very interactive - we learned to make the recipes and then got to enjoy the food with a beautiful view of the city and the bay. The chefs were very accommodating and everyone had a great time while learning how to make the recipes. One of the most memorable activities of our trip

I really only have words of thankfulness for Louisa and Elvira because was such a beautiful experience to take their vegetarian cooking class. Louisa is cool, very nice, attentive, an excellent host and speaks very clearly. Elvira cooks simple and delicious dishes. Watching her cook makes you want to make the dish yourself! It is practical and easy to learn. Thanks for having made me feel so comfortable! Whoever wants to get to know the best of Sicily just needs to do one of their classes!

Book this cooking “class” NOW!! Its an “experience”that will leave you forever changed!
My husband was not sold on the idea of “cooking”
While on vacation…”why would we do that?” He asked! Well, it so happened to be his favorite memory while on vacation!
It’s hard to put into words just how amazing this experience was! First off Louisa! She is a gem! We fell in love with her passion for sharing Sicilian cooking with others! She & her amazing chef Elvira helped us prepare the most delicious meal we ate in all of Sicily while sipping on unlimited Prosecco & wine! We made classic sicilian recipes of spaghettoni muddica, caponata, then zucchini, veal & fresh fish involtini.
What made this experience even better was the fact we shared it with 2 other couples & a group of girlfriends from
All over the world! Dubai, England, Germany & USA. We shared stories, broke bread & drank wine on Louisa’s gorgeous veranda while overlooking the beautiful lights & sounds of Taormina! This evening helped restore our faith in humans after 2 very long years of isolation & quarantine! This vacation was a healing experience and It’s a night we will never forget! Thank you Louisa & staff, we WILL return again someday!

The whole evening was magical! And the meal was by far the best we had during our 3 weeks in Italy. And we had some fine meals along the way to compare it with. The atmosphere at Louisa's villa is lovely, peaceful and warm, with lovely music playing and the warm Sicilian night beckoning by candlelight. We learned many tips from Chef during class time and, in between courses, we sipped Prosecco on the veranda overlooking beautiful Taormina. It was a wonderful evening enjoying fantastic food with warm and welcoming people. This was not the cheapest cooking class we could have taken in Sicily but was, by far, the best value. Hope we can return sometime.

One of the highlights of our 12 day family trip was the cooking class we took at Villa Britannia. It was an absolute blast! The host and her helpers were great teachers. We were welcomed into this beautiful home as if we were family. We laughed, we learned, we ate and we drank! The villa is an amazing piece of history, it's cozy, but still roomy enough for the 12 of us to wander off and explore. In our group we had 3 kids under 15 (6 total) and they all participated and enjoyed it as well. Our next visit would definitely include another night at Villa Britannia. Thank you for having us Louisa!

Get ready for a magical experience at Villa Brittania! Chef Louisa was kind and personal to us, remembering our names even the next day when we bumped into her at Taormina's beach club the next day. I cannot recommend this class enough. It was just the right amount of participation versus eating. The strawberry panna cotta was our favorite dish of the night, prepared in advance but superb. Wine and conversation were flowing late into the evening. Great views from the B&B patio. Thank you Louisa and team for an unforgettable experience.
