We met Mimmo at the Porta Messina, he took us to the local market, where we chose fresh fish and vegetables, then on to the restaurant to meet Mamma Francesca and family . We chopped, fried, pulsed, kneaded, etc. to Francesca's directions: then ate the lunch we had prepared, complete with wine: delicious! Such a friendly and informative experience: our... More

We met Mimmo at the Messina Gate at 10 a.m. and walked to a market that was something we'd have never found otherwise. We got fresh veggies and fish, with a great explanation of how to to select both. We tasted cheeses, olives, bread and salami....very yummy. We walked back to the restaurant where Mimmos mother directed us in preparing... More

We met Chef Mimo and another couple and went shopping for ingredients in the local market. Mimo explained every detail about the local products and we went to his family's restaurant to prepare the dishes and eat everything - aubergines, hand made pasta in tomato sauce and sea fish. Everything was very tasty!!! The whole experience was so much fun,... More

Mimmo & his family welcomed us into their restaurant sharing their recipes and taste of Sicilian life. It's a hands on class starting at the market buying seasonal produce. Everyone gets to cook everything for three courses with plenty of time for questions. And of course to enjoy very good food & wine. One of our best experiences!

We joined this cooking class with a chief Mimo and enjoyed every moment of it! He did not only teach us how to cook, but provided a lot of helpful information about the Mediterranean diet and products! We had a lot of fun and got some knowledge at the same time, many thanks to our chief!

Our favorite way to discover local culture and history is always a cooking class and this was one of our finest ever. No stuffy lectures, you enjoy a marvelous experience led by Mimmo, whose English is as terrific as his personality. He is also the son of Ristorante Nettuno’s chef Francesca (“Mamma”). Class began with four of us strolling through... More

We had a wonderful experience on August 2nd 2016. We met Mimmo easily and he took us to the market with the other folks who were to join us on the class. I'm a bit of a foodie and it was really interesting to hear about the ingredients we were going to use in our dishes. Back at the restaurant... More

We were picked up at our cruise port in Messina by Calogero Burrongano of Sicily Limousine Service. He took us on a tour of the coastline and up to a beautiful look out spot where we had amazing views of Sicily. We then had cappuccino at a local cafe before heading to the restaurant. We were greeted by Mimmo and... More
