The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

This place is beautiful, charged in history and beautiful landscapes. Really touristic though. I would totally recommend it.

What an amazing venue for an even more amazing musician. The Greek Theatre is so enchanting. I feel in love at first sight. Of course, watching Eddie Vedder perform here made the experience like no other. It was truly magical and even without Eddie it...More

Through this main Arche, with the right weather you can see the volcano. The theatre is still being used today and is a very popular venue.

The theatre is obviously a shadow of its original structure but still very impressive nonetheless. The views are spectacular and it's well worth a visit.

We actually stumbled upon this place by following very well dressed people on a Saturday evening! We found the Taormina book festival, there was a large crowd, we walked in (free) sat down and watched a full orchestra and an opera singer, it got dark,...More

The theater was probably most disappointing site in Taormina. Once again there is a modern seats and facilities for concerts and plays. The view from the top of the theater to the surrounding area is beautiful.

We came here for the first time when Kung Fu Panda had a premeire in 2009. The ancient theater was transformed into a beautiful place. It was a bit windy that night. The sound system was perfect. They gave us a satin bag to keep...More

Yes, walking is fine. It's all paved and there are some steps up to the theatre. It is an flight upward incline to the theatre. The town itself is a lovely place to wander around with shops and restaurants.

Hi, Irishblondie2010. What would you like to know about this attraction? Is Taormina worth travelling to from Messina where the ship will come in please? Loo roll? Thanks Margaret
