This is the southern end of Corso Umberto. We had limited time in Taormina but we wanted to walk from one end to the other and we did. Lovely town.

Both this Porta Catania di Taormina and Porta Messina are situated on both ends of the main street and offer great views in- and outside the center. Beautifull and historical scenery!

The main entrance to the shopping street close by the taxi rank. It is quite a statement entrance and adds to the anticipation of what is beyond.

Impressive entrance gate at the opposite end to Porta Messina. The Palace of Dukes of San Stefano is nearby - you can admire the architecture from the outside.
