Wandered through the market twice. Once just to see what was available and check out the local scene and then again to purchase a few things and have some lunch. Some merchandise is pretty flea market predictable-cheap hats and shirts, sunglasses, touristy kitchen towels and...More

Some great alfresco cafes. Lovely part of Siracuse to explore. Maybe it would be too crowded to enjoy during the summer

This looked more like a local then tourist market. There is plenty of unusual food on display, particularly local delicacies. Also some interesting restaurants that are combined with delicatessens that you can look inside. Overall the place did not appear too clean so be careful...More

We visited the markets for some fresh fruits and vegetable and I ended up having the best seafood ever from one of the stalls - freshly caught octopus and calamari. There is also an amazing panini store who's owner gives out samples of delicious cheeses...More

This market is located next to the Tempio di Apollo. It is not as big (on 2 streets) as those of Palermo for example, but it is very endearing, . The smells are delicious, the singing voices of the merchants are very pleasant, and the...More

The second to last shop of the market street, which sells hams, cheeses and the like, also sells very good sandwiches filled with dried cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, salad etc. (yummie). Also try the delicacies at the other market stalls (almond cookies, fresh mulberries ...).

Shops are filled with fresh products. The shops close about 14:00 hour so it is better to be there in the morning. The best for us were restaurants with fish and sicilian food. It was really wonderfull food.

The market is busy in the morning with locals shopping for fish, meat, poultry, fruits, spices, veggies, etc. There are few tourists in the off-season - especially when we were here - January 2018. So, it was enjoyable to stroll through the market which is...More
