A wonderful day with a wonderful family. Giuseppe and his parents offer a unique opportunity to explore the foods of Sicily. The first stop is visiting the market to pick up the provisions for lunch. The market is still frequented by locals and is a manageable size so you can really learn about the unique fruits, veggies and fish of Sicily. Then its off to the house to prepare lunch. Giuseppe and his parents were warm and generous in sharing their home. We learned new cooking techniques and more about Sicily. This is a very special experience to be invited into a home and share in the life of this wonderful family. Highly recommended!

This day was one of the highlights of our two week trip! Giuseppe was waiting for us at the cafe and then a stroll through the colorful market selecting items to cook.....and a ride to his home to meet three generations of family!!! The cooking begins and we immediately felt the warmth from food and wonderful folks! Outstanding experience....the preparation, food, atmosphere and wonderful people. I can't wait to try these recipes back home. Again, thank you Giuseppe and family for a delightful day and learning experience!

My Dad, sister and boyfriend all met Giuseppe at what we would call a farmer's market and shopped for all of our groceries before hopping in his car and heading to his family home to meet his mom and sister. It was a very intimate and authentic afternoon spent laughing over wine and learning everything from his family's favorite recipes to their favorite techniques for food preparation. Being welcomed to sit in their kitchen and taste their own homemade sundried tomatoes and capers while preparing a meal was such an honor. We ended with a wonderful dinner at their dining room table. Great food, even better people.

Our afternoon in Ortigia was a highlight of our tour around Sicily. The walk through the market was delightful as was the ride to Ortigia Flavour. We were a small group which allowed us to be very hands on. Their place is spectacular and I would like a kitchen like theirs. Great fun!
