When you see this statue of Syracusa most famous son you have reached Ortigia. The statue is ok but not in keeping with the stone work of the island.

Close to the bridges connecting the island to the rest of the city. A pretty place with lots of boats. The statue is well executed. Archimedes is the local boy made good!

At the junction of Syracuse and Ortigia island. Very nice bronze of Archemedes. It stands at the port where you get boat trips around the island.

This is a very nice tribute to a genius inhabitant of Syracuse, done with taste, but location of it maybe should be somewhere more prominent. Genius of this magnitude deserves that.

The place is very well organized and has a small crossing bridge which actually connects Ortigia island. The statue is in his honor being the birthplace.
