Domenico arranged a last minute private walking tour of Palermo for my sister and I. The tour guide, Simone, was very knowledgeable and thorough. His love for his native Palermo was a great start to our holiday in Sicily.

A few days later, Domenico was able to arrange a private driver from
Palermo to Segesta and Erice. The driver was friendly, prompt, flexible with meet up times and affordable. A great value!

I am very thankful for all the arrangements that Domenico made to contribute to a great vacation!

This tour is all you need when you are in Palermo. Dominico creates a light and popular atmosphere when he walks you around knowing every corner of the city, all people from marced stall owners to city council members. Food we got was really too much and so decilious. All combined with a touch of humor, fantastic. Don’t miss it if he has openings in his calendar.

Our tour guide Marco was absolutely amazing. We were a group of 6 friends for a long weekend and this tour was a highlight of our holiday.
Great mix of culture and food. Marco is an excellent communicator with fantastic historical knowledge and great English. It was really easy to understand. He also has a great passion for Sicily and Palermo and made us fall in laugh with the city!
Tour started from 4 Canti square that we visited the day before but didn’t really know much about it.
We also saw the fountain in front of city hall and went inside St Mary of Admiral church that has Byzantium mosaics from the 12th century. It is absolutely stunning inside.
After that we stopped at a cafe and tried arancinies. Then went to the market which was very vibrant, colourful, noisy in a good sense, buzzing and full of delicious food! We tried lots of delicious specialities and had a drink of Granitta (crushed ice with freshly squeezed juice, pomegranate was delicious)
Later we walked around very charming hidden gem alleys. They were very quiet and contrasting after huddle and bustle of the market. We also did a stop at local archive building that has all Palermo documents going back for centuries. We would never found this place or visited it ourselves. However it was something very different and interesting
We finished our tour at the same place we started with canoli or an ice cream. Marco also given us lots of good recommendations of places to eat, things to visit and how to get to the local beach.
If you have time to do one thing in Palermo- it would be this tour! Makes me smile when I’m writing this review as I have such a lovely memory

Our group (3 adults/3 teenagers) spent a morning with Domenico walking around Palermo. We had spent 2 weeks in Italy and had several guides and Domenico was the best one we had by far. A great mix of history, culture and sights not in the guidebooks. All was done with a keen sense of humor that fit our group well. And he makes the tasting of the street food that Palermo is known for a priority of his tour (and you have to try the spleen sandwich...you have to). We have traveled a lot and had many guides over the years and Domenico stands out as giving us an enjoyable experience we will never forget. Thank you again Domenico...

Today, my wife and I had the pleasure of taking a walking tour with Domenico. He truly impressed us with his humor, entertaining storytelling, and the amazing street food experience we had. We highly recommend joining one of his walking tours and booking directly with him, bypassing third-party apps, to ensure he receives a larger portion of the fee. You won't be disappointed!

It was very relaxed. Domenico had a lovely sense of humour. He was a real trooper. He had injured his hip and was obviously in a lot of pain but he soldiered on bravely. The Granita was my favourite part of the food. Really refreshing in the heat. We met some lovely people. Nice small tour of 8.

I participated in Domenico's walking tour twice: once alone and once with my boyfriend. Both times I was absolutely amazed by the perfect balance of art/history and entertainment provided by Domenico, and by the abundance of information he shared with us within half a day without making us feel overwhelmed with data. We got to know parts of Palermo that we would never have discovered otherwise, and historical facts that helped us understand the city better. In addition, Domenico's way of imparting knowledge is absolutely entertaining, not to mention his friendly and open personality. By the end, we felt like palermitani veri e fieri! Absolutely recommended.

We enjoyed our walking tour with Dominico. He has a great sense of humor, is knowledgeable about his hometown and knew his way around the maze of streets and alleys of the historic center. 👍

We chose Domenica’s walking tour after reading the many glowing reviews. He kept in contact with us leading up to our walk. He was on time and the group was made up of 4 couples so it was very manageable and relaxed. Domenica has a passion for Palermo and it’s history and culture. The tour was well balanced with an eclectic mix of history, art, culture and food. He took us to places that were off the beaten track as well as some of the must sees. The tour also includes generous tastings from the market stalls which were delicious. Domenica is a very knowledgeable guide who also has a great sense of humour which makes for a fun experience. Worth every cent!

There were only 5 of us plus the guide, Dominico, so it was a nice sized group. We had about 3 and a half hours and wandered through some areas we hadn't been before and of course, the food market in Barocca. We went inside the city hall so we could look over one of the original Norman churches in the square below and also see the workings (!) of Italian local government. Apparently they have 20,000 civil servants on Sicily but I have no idea what they do as the place is obviously massively lacking investment.
We then went inside the Church of St Mary dell Ammiraglio which still uses Greek Orthodox rites and is a mix of baroque and Byzantine interior design. It predates the Norman Palace chapel by a few years and has yet more of the glorious golden mosaics.
From there we had a quick diversion into the city archives to see how they store all of the original documents before walking through the market area and looking at and trying various foods. There were strangely no takers for the spleen sandwich but I had an arancini - a sort of deep fried rice ball with cheese and ham. We continued looking at various food stalls and then had a quick diversion to the Jesuit church of Jesus which was a real riot of baroque and ended up in Ruvolo Cafe where I indulged in something that was basically a brioche bun with two scopps of ice cream - dark chocolate and pistachio in my case. The guide was excellent and gave us some nice insights into the life and history of the island.
