The tour started with being easy to book. Giorgio was very responsive to the booking and the concerns I had about booking on a Sunday - it turned out not to be an issue.

The meeting place was easy to find and Giorgio was a bit early which was nice. Another couple that had scheduled the tour canceled so my wife and I had Giorgio to ourselves. Prior to starting, we received a good overview of what we would be seeing, our planned path, and the planned approach to eating street food in Palermo. As we walked, Giorgio provided a running commentary on the culture of Palermo and its historical development.

Early on we went past Teatro Massimo and we mentioned that it would be nice to see an opera as we had done in other opera houses in Europe. Giorgio immediately detoured and got us to the ticket to explore whether it could be done - unfortunately, the timing was off. But it is a great example of the interest he takes in serving his clients.

We explored the markets and tasted many of the offerings described in his promotional materials. But there was more - Giorgio suggested trying prickly pear fruit and it was very tasty. I expressed a desire for some tasty olives for our apartment and he directed us to a great selection then arranged for them to be vacuum wrapped so they did not leak into my backpack.

Overall, Giorgio provided service well beyond our expectations. I would recommend his tour to anyone visiting Palermo that is interested in culture, history, and, of course, food.

We highly recommend Giorgio of Palermo Street Food Tours! Giorgio was recommended to us by an Italian-American friend in NY. We're so glad she did. We enjoy street food whenever we explore a new city internationally. Palermo ranks as one of the best street food cities in Europe. We did a night time tour during the holiday season.

Not only did Giorgio give us great history on Palermo, its people, culture and its food (arancino vs arancina debate!), but he listened to us and adapted the tour to fit our interests. Specifically, we had become interested in Arianna Occhipinti and Occhipinti wines after seeing her featured on CNN's "Searching for Italy" with Stanley Tucci, the Sicily episode. Next thing we knew, we were sitting down enjoying a bottle on the patio of a favorite trattoria of Giorgio.

Well-traveled Americans owe it to themselves to get beyond the usual suspects (Roma, Florence, Venice, the Amalfi coast) and head down to Sicily. Wonderful people, food, and history. Even rent a car. It will build character!

Giorgio was a very insightful tour guide, he not only showed us places for street food and where to go in the market but he also gave us tips on good restaurants, bars and cafes in the area. He made sure to include the history of Palermo and the food itself. We could not recommend Palermo Street Food enough!

Me and my friend went along with Giorgio to see and taste the street food in Palermo. We couldn't have had a better day.. in fact- we both said it was the best day we had during the holiday! The food we sampled was great, and seeped in historic tales. Giorgio couldn't have been better!!! He was so knowledgeable and so helpful when it came to translating some of the Italian lingo! Genuinely... if you do one thing in palermo... do this. It was well worth the money. Thanks again Giorgio! :)

My family and I were on a cruise that stopped in Palermo. 13 of us decided to do the tour and the age ranged from 13 to 77. Valentina was our tour guide and she was amazing! She catered to large size and varying dynamic of our group extremely well. Not only did we get to experience some awesome cuisine, we were also able to learn more about the unique and fascinating history of the city. I would recommend this to all! Thanks for a great experience, Valentina!

Palermo is known for its street food, so what better way to learn about it's culture than through a walking food tour!? Brilliant! Giorgio was an excellent guide, funny and very knowledgeable. Best part is that you only pay for his guidance, and can choose to try/pay for the street foods you want along the way. Very affordable samples (2-4€) and vegitarian options. You'll learn about the food, wine, history, all while walking and taking in the historic sites. I'd definitely recommended as a start, or any part of your Palermo visit.

Thanks for a great time Giorgio!

We had a fantastic tour with Giorgio. Very funny, open minded guy. We had only a few hours the visit the capital of Sicily and it was the perfect way the get to know part of its culture. The first part is concentrated on eating and the second one on walking through the old town and digesting. Brilliant! I ate some delicious food and learned a lot. If I go back I will definitely try the wine tasting tour. Thank you so much,

We did two sessions with the Palermo Street food crew. One with Giorgio trying out street food and the other with Francesca, an experienced sommelier who gave us a guide to Sicilian wines in a Capo Enoteca.
Wandering through the street markets of Palermo with someone who knows them well was much more informative than the DIY approach. Both Giorgio and Francesca really know their stuff, have very good English and found experiences for us that would suit our tastes (my wife is vegetarian but there was plenty for her to try too). I normally eat very little meat but simply had to try some of the weirder met dishes and was rewarded for doing so. Highly recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed a great Saturday night tour with Giorgio a few weeks ago whilst on honeymoon. We only had a very short time in Palermo and the tour was an amazing way to be fully immersed in the city within a couple of hours of arriving. There is no way we would have seen, learnt or eaten so much in such a short space of time left to our own devices.......and certainly would have spent more than 6 euros! Giorgio was an excellent host with a real locals passion for the city and its street food......highly recommended!
