Beautiful location and exterior. However, upon entering the building we were rather underwhelmed. Despite the english handout of the history of the church, there really wasn't much to it and the handout wasn't very well explained or labelled with regards to which part of the church they were actually talking about. Easy to pop in to, but not worth €2,50

This little church is on the harbour in Palermo and is worth a quick visit. The nuns will hand you a little laminated card which tells the story of some prisoners being freed from jail by the virgin who unlocked their chains and then a miraculous appearance of the chains in church. A chain used to secure the harbour still... More

This small church is located near the Palermo's harbor, quite hidden from from the tourism trail being located far enough from the historic and perhaps because of its low popularity. The church is very old indeed is dated to around AD 1500 and is surprisingly a fusion og Baroque and Gothic style, very rare in Palermo being a purely Baroque... More

We passed this attractive church most every day, and visited on a Sunday morning as mass was ending. At first glance it doesn’t look like a church. Both the exterior aspect and the interior are impressive. On a wall is the chain that is the origin of the name, the chain being used to close off the port at night.... More

A spacious church with some clearly catalan influences, the structure itself however still reveals a norman layout - especially visible in the transept from the outside.
