Apparently his is the second most important church in Palermo after the cathedral. It has the tombs of many important Sicilian politicians, painters and poets. It is well worth a look.

This church in a small square is simply stunning to look at. It’s also got the tomb of one of the anti-Mafia judges who was assassination by the mob, which is very interesting and also moving.

We sought this church out specifically for the memorial/monument to one of my wife's ancestors. We found so much more as this church has dozens of prominent Sicilians and Italians memorialized within. It is quite beautiful with a lovely piazza and shops nearby.

This is another church in Palermo city, one made of marble and impressive by itself in terms of work and details.

This majestic church houses many caskets and memorials to Sicilians from the last 200 years. It’s also an active parish with Sunday Mass at 10:30. The dual sets of bells ringing as we left Mass was an uplifting finale. The surrounding Piazza has several nice...More
