Brilliant morning with Francesco. All the equipment was ready and waiting upon arrival, he even had a wet bag for our phones, wallets and keys. He brought us on a really fun journey to the cliffs, around Ortigia, and across the bay where we stopped to explore some World War Two ruins and to have a swim on a sandy beach. Francesco was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had. Definitely recommend!

We went kayaking while based in Trapani in the salt flat area of Marsala Francesco was a very well informed guide who made the trip feel very relaxed and safe. Francesco had also been most helpful in offering this option to us and explaining beforehand what to expect. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water NB . It is very sun exposed so take great care re burning, a long sleeved top is probably best..
Thoroughly r3commended

We did not actually do this excursion with Sea Kayak Sicily, as Francesco alerted us that sea conditions on our scheduled day would be rougher than my wife and I are comfortable paddling in.

Our review is for the process of making a booking (easy, great e-mail communication), providing a deposit (also easily accomplished via PayPal and refunded in full when we decided not to take the excursion due to rough seas), and Francesco's excellent communication throughout the process (great communication in making the booking, sizing for equipment, boat selection for single or tandem kayaks, and communicating the potential for high winds and rough seas in advance of our scheduled excursion.)

I do hope to take a tour with Sea Kayak Sicily when we return to Catania, and given the excellent service and communication provided, would absolutely book with this agency again.

I can't say enough good things about Francesco as a guide. He's extradinarily personable (even compared to his peer group), responsive (he always returned emails and phone calls promptly), intelligent, skilled (a BCU 5 star paddler!) and great story-teller. Although I had only a single day with him, he could not have made it any easier for this English-only client.

I have paddled elsewhere in Italy and almost always found the kit/equipment sorely lacking. The Maremotu boats and paddle were first rate. They boat hull is a shallow arch which would be fine for beginning paddlers but I found it delightful even though I'm an experienced paddler--it was very responsive and relaxed even as the weather and seas got more interesting. Equally important, he was able to provide a paddle that was a good match for me in length and feather.

North of Catania is a wonderfully varied and beautiful coast with lava cliffs, caves, and spectacular scenery with a fabulous view of Etna. Should I get a chance to paddle the Aeolian Islands or Sardinia, I will surely make an effort to book with Maremotu.

This was my second trip with Maremotu. Good to see Francesco again after 3 years. This time we made a 3 day paddle along the beautiful South East coast of Sicily from Siracuza to the Isola delle Corrente (the Southernmost tip of Sicily). Francesco was there to meet us at Catania airport, with kayaks and equipment all ready, so we were able to begin our trip just a few hours after our arrival. Excellent quality equipment and service from Maremotu, and great value for money. I fully recommend this service to both beginners or experienced sea-kayaking enthusiasts.

Before booking the trip we emailed some questions to Francesco about which location was closest to our apartment. He replied very quickly which gave us a good feeling upfront.

The kayak trip was well arranged, the equipment was in a good state and Francesco brought his water-proof camera to make pictures of us! Because of his work as a geologist he was able to tell a lot about the nature on the island.

If possible with the weather conditions ( Francesco will be able to tell about this), we would recommend to book this trip at the beginning of you holiday because you'll come across several beaches and places which you'd like to visit later on!

I met Francesco today 5 th November, who took me sea kayaking with his team, it was a beautifully calm day and there was not a cloud in the sky, he collected me from my hotel, we drove to the location, and he told me everything about the region as he is geologist, (Mt. Etna) which was extremely interesting. Francesco is very friendly, funny, attentive a great listener and communicator. Anyhow we arrived and got everything ready for kayaking, the scenery was amazing i got to see cliffs, sea birds and ancient buildings located at sea, along with the education of the reason behind the mythology of the region which i could compare to my own knowledge of irish mythology. We paddled about 15 km which was ok for me as i kayak similar distances in ireland. During the paddle we stopped and chatted with a local fisherman who built boats for a living, which was such a different perpective from life in ireland, we had a refreshing drink at a bar and a ice cream on such a lovely day it was heavenly. We finished the day washed and tidied up tasted local fruit from orchard and got ready to leave but Francesco asked me did i have to get home early, so he invited me to lunch with.his team. So we arrived at the restaurant which overlooked the sea which was outstanding to look upon, on such a georgeous day it was so tranquil and relaxing. It was really beautiful to gaze upon and see the shimmering sunshine reflect from the water it was nothing short of spectacular. Anyhow we ate lunch which was anchoves with local olive oil, muscles cooked to perfection, the second course was pasta:-), shrimp, a variety of muscles and sauces. I never tasted sea food which tasted so good, it was of 5 star quality, along with crisp refreshing fruity wine all ingredients sourced locally, the company kept at lunch was amazing. I never met such lovely and friendly people who made me so welcomed welcomed for me, oh I wish i was born sicilian. This is experience is already one of my fondest memories it is a definite must for would be travellers to avail of Francesco services. A top class tour guide, fluent english speaker, passionate about kayaking and just a real joy. This is the excursion that one should choose. I will think fondly about this activity for years to come. Thank you so much Frabcesco, Sophie and Richardo. Ciao, may the roads rise up to meet you, best of health and happiness in the future. Anthony.:-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

I contacted Francesco via email with some initial queries and days available to kayak. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a warm and prompt response.

As I am 26 yo female with very limited kayaking skills, this was no problem for Francesco!

We spent the day kayaking around Aci Trezza and Aci Costello and further to eat some wild blackberries.

We took a break to snorkel and climb some rocks, whilst Francesco incorporated his geology background and I learnt more about Mt Etna... And even history about Sicily!

I would recommend you bring some clothes in case you stop at Aci Costello (unlike me that only wore a swimsuit).

All your personal belongings will be safe in a waterproof bag, lunch and water is provided by Francesco for day trips.

Also throughout the day Francesco will be taking photos with his waterproof camera.

I would definitely recommend anybody kayak at any level at any time of the year with Francesco to enjoy Sicily and its beauty from the sea.

An excellent kayak trip along the coast around Taormina. The equipment was first class and Francesco and his team were extremely professional. We (a stag party from the Uk) had a great days paddling exploring the amazing coastline. The trip was good for all abilities as not all of our party had previous sea kayaking experience.

We had a fantastic day out in the blue sea of Taormina. The trip was very well organized and our guides were very kind and helpful. Both of them spoke very good English and we really enjoyed their company. The Kayak adventure was excellent and we had very good fun!
