...this Amenano Fountain is located right in Piazza Duomo in Catania!!...just before entering the characteristic fish market!!...it is made of Carrara marble...it is named after the river of the same name!!...in the center of the Fountain there is a statue of a young woman...from here the river flows and then continues its course!!...on the sides there are two kneeling tritons who then pour the water into the conduit below!!... it is said that this fountain is one of the places where you can still see the passage of the river!!…it certainly does not go unnoticed!!…

Beautiful fountain, particular in the flow of the water....also in this case I cannot give less than 4 dots for the value of the fountain. But the surrounding dirt in my opinion obscures everything and compromises its natural beauty. I hope to return and be able to see it again in a "new" context

Walking in the wonderful "Piazza Duomo", in the Catania downtown, you could appreciate the Amenano Fountain, from this point you could reach rapidly the "Pescaria ".

The fountain is close to Duomo in Catania. It has a beautiful architecture and it is a must see in Catania.

Crammed into a corner of the square

You'll have to look around for it. Overwhelmed by local buildings. It is dominated by the more obvious Elephant fountain and the Duomo.

Lovely fountain just above the Fish Market

This is a lovely fountain tucked away in the corner of the Piazza Duomo looking over the Fish Market. The fountain which represents the river Amenano as a young man holding a shell which the water flows from. The water from the fountain flows into a channel which goes under the Piazza.
