In the splendid historic center of Catania, the wonderful open-air museum of Via dei Crociferi opens. The road, in the short distance of about 400 meters, is full of extraordinary churches and monasteries, which represent the triumph of Baroque architecture. Starting from the Arch of San Benedetto, you come across many extraordinary beauties: the church of San Benedetto and the convent of the Benedictine nuns, the church of San Francesco Borgia, the Jesuit College, the church of San Giuliano, the church of San Camillo and Villa Cerami. Wonders that follow one after the other with a unique architectural unity, it seems like living in the suggestive eighteenth-century period, every step is a unique spectacle that takes all the senses and leaves you enraptured!!! Many of the monuments can be visited and there you discover a unique and precious treasure!!! Unique and exciting experience through a magical world, absolutely worth visiting, not to be missed!!!!

This street is known for the fine array of churches, monasteries, homes and civic buildings designed in the Baroque style. Some of the more notable buildings include Chiesa di San Benedetto, Chiesa di San Francesco Borgia, Villa Cerami and Chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi all'Immacolata. Aside from all these magnificent buildings it’s also worth visiting the southern end where there’s the Teatro Antico greco-romano, ancient Greek theatre

I enjoyed strolling along the Via dei Crociferi much better than it's larger more famous parallel sister, Via Etnea. It is much quieter yet lined with old but beautiful Baroque buildings. Highly recommend taking this detour.

Very close to Duomo, a parallel street with via Etnea. A street with a number of baroque bldgs, in particular churches (San Benetto, San Guiliano) and the famous arch of San Francesco. A quiet street, where you can relax, walk and take pictures. Do not miss it!

There are streets and then there is Via dei Crociferi in Catania. We visited for its wonderful architecture. There are some wonderful buildings along the length of this street. However the numerous baroque churches are absolutely amazing. And there is also the Teatro Antico! You need to walk the whole street to fully appreciate its beauty.

Aula 77 is on the right hand branch of via Crociferi if you are looking up the hill. There's a good pizza place - il Solaio, on the corner and a load of other little snack places all along this lesse known side of via Crociferi but Aula 77 Is my favourite as it has good prices, nice wines, and both vegan and vegetarian dishes. Ask for a piatto misto if you can't decide what to have. Then after lunch go along to the end of the road and look around the university's Faculty of Law.

It is really the most beautiful street. It runs among several historical and monumental churches. You can feel the history on your skin walking along this street.

In the hearth of Catania, a quiet and romantic street with plenty of baroque churches (not well maintained unfortunately) and magnificent views throughout the rest of dowtown Catania. Go there in spring or autumn to avoid too high temperatures and enjoy!

Has many beautiful buildings and people are always walking around. It makes you feel part of the lifestyle. This is the only hill area in Catania. Very pretty.

This is the centre of the typical Catanese baroque with five churches all on a small street. Restaurants, cafes, pizzerias are extremely well-placed and not expensive. Very relaxed area. At the very end there is Piazza Stesicoro with the ruins of a semi-buried Roman amphitheatre.

Hola voy a estar en julio próximo en Catania con mi esposa, y quería tener información sobre tours nocturnos por la ciudad, y para organizar una visita por el día a Siracusa y Noto. Desde ya muchas gracias.
