The botanical gardens at Catania are very beautiful and tranquil. We spent around two hours or so looking through the amazing selection of cacti, trees, local sicilian plants and exotic plants found in greenhouses. All this for free. Definitely worth the visit.

This medium sized city botanical garden offers free access to several sections like the Sicilian one or cactuses. The plants are well taken care of and nicely labeled. The toilets were very clean even at closing time

Very nice place if you need some relaxing in the city. This might be a good place for a picnic, if food is allowed.

We found Orto Botanico by chance, exploring Catania city. First surprise-it's free. It's very well maintained. Enjoyed there very much.

Catania’s Orto Botanico was a quiet and cool oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. It is not too big that you are intimidated, but not too small either. Plants and flower beds are well-labeled. There are several fountains with...More

Beautiful gardens just off Via Etnae. Very interesting plants and flowers. Very cool and pleasant to wander around in the shade of fantastic giant palm trees and other huge specimens. Entry was free.
