Travelled here with tour operator, the colours of the rocks need to be seen to be believed, taken up via coach to a rest area where we then caught the cable car up to the next level. Large 4x4 trucks then drive you up to the final stop point, where a tour guide then takes you around the large craters,... More

We drove to the lower parking lot, where we were asked to pay a man "a tip" to park our car. OK, when in Sicily..... From there, you buy tickets in the booth -- either a cable car half way to 2000m, or continuation with a 4x4 bus and a guide to the top. We choose the full package. Note:... More

this is a great volcano with lots of transportation to get to the near top or at least as far as the do not progress signs. our hosts had checked the weather for the best day to go. there had been activity the 25th of may but 11 june was a fine clear day. surprisingly there is snow in patches... The trip offers range from 'base camp' to summit. The starting point of the cable cart is just a bunch of souvenier shops, so go higher. The end point of the cable cart is just a transfer point, so go higher. Hiking up looked really nice, but as we had 5m baby with us we took the bus+guided tour -option.... More

The tour bus or local bus will probably bring you to the car park area which is about 2/3rds of the way up the vulcano. But be warned, if you want to get to the top you will probably have to pay an additional 63 euros per person to get the cable car and a 4x4 vehicle to complete the... More

Mount Etna is an incredible mountain in the Mediterranean Sea. You can drive only one our from the subtropic Klimazone to the arctic region. The best think to do is ride on etna donkey´s in Etna North. Salvo the owner is an friendly Sicilian with many interest news about the Etna region.

The huge Mount Etna dominates the scenery from every direction in north east Sicily. The green foothills quickly give way to the dark brown lava flows. For better photo opportunities take them from the lower green levels and best of all from the Amphitheatre in Taomino.

Mount Etna. There is a large car/coach park at the start of the Etna trip. Passing along twisting roads through some lovely villages at the lower end of the mountains. Once at the start of the Etna area you have a choice. You can remain at the bottom where all the shops and cafes are and walk to some nearby... More
