We stayed in Taormina and got the 9.15am bus from the terminal (destination: Francavilla). We didn't pay the entrance fee of 8EUR, but went via the free route. A few people have commented that there's not much to see if you don't pay. This is...More

There are many reviews about getting in for free but if you do this you can only see the gorge from one view point which is quite minimal for what is on offer. If you pay the entrance fee of €8.00 you can walk along...More

We took the bus at 9:15 from Taormina bus station. About one hour ride and 3 Euro ticket. We then took the free entrance and walked down the steps. Beautiful rock formations and water. However, you will probably spend maximum of 30 minutes there. If...More

Came as part of an trip. After a long day the top part was disappointing with graffiti on the cactus, uneven pathways, steep walkways but good views. Took the lift down to the river but pathway was roped off and you could not continue without...More

A must visit, you were these heavy duty wellington boots with braces around waist to hold them up as you will be immersed in knee high of cold mountain water.. a great excursion/visit. Guide was brilliant, very helpful and assisted us through the more rocky...More

Its such an amazing place, that it should be missed by anyone visiting Sicily. Park your car in the parking and give them a minimal donation, but then avoid paying 9 euros per person at all costs.. it is not worth it since right up...More

rammed, boys with whistles in carpark asking for "donations", hideous canteen. disgusting toilets. By all means go down to the gorge via the free entrance but do it off season or very early in the day..

A great place to go on a hot mid-summers morning, the gorge is not huge in scale or beautiful beyond imagination but it is a novelty to be able to walk up and down the middle of the cool water running down the mountain. There...More

Word of advice - don't pay for the entrance. There is a free public entrance 150m along the road from the "official one". You can park in the parking there (which is free) and walk up the road easily. The only "advantages" of the paid...More

When approaching the Gola, drive 150 meters passed the big entrance. you will find the 'Ingresso communale'. using that will save you the 8 euro entry fee which is ridiculously high.... the gola is nice to see. spending a couple of hours.
