We saw this gateway to the city on a cultural walk led by the guide Natalia, she described the city to us as it was in ancient times at the time of the Pisans until today. It takes its name from the sculptures depicting lion heads placed above the door arch.

In October we disembarked from a Costa cruise and walked into the historic center of Cagliari. Going up from Piazza Yenne, once you arrive in the Castello area, past the Torre dell'Elefante and the University, you reach the Porta Dei Due Leoni. Built in the first half of the 1500s, it takes its name from the two sculptures present at the top of the front, depicting two lion heads. After passing the gate you reach the beautiful Panoramic Terrace which overlooks the famous Bastion of Saint Remy. Absolutely recommended visit perhaps following our itinerary.
