The exterior is not very impressive, except for the dome. The interior is much nicer. It was reconstructed in its current form in the late 1600’s. Of special interest are the marble carvings and the huge doors.

This church is more interesting, in my view, than the cathedral. Built in the 1500s it has stayed much as it was and is quite simple. The barrel-vaulted ceiling is quite unusual and the dome outside is very colourful.

Whay a beautiful and peaceful church. So glad I visited, there was a service in progress and I sat at the back. Plenty to see, and well worth including in a walk about the town.

This is a fascinating building with a beautiful interior. Well worth a visit whilst in the old town. The coloured dome can be seen from all over the city.

The best of this church is the coloured maiolica dome where you can see everywhere you going in Alghero. The church is situated in the medieval center of the city.
