Atmospheric, as open but without lighting,. The orgaist was practising and I sat whilst a storm raged, anjoying the music, a dry place to sir, and the fantastic atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

Indeed, people speak Catalan and still prefer to speak Spanish. That fisher village was discovered by the Genoese who made it a fortress. Then it was taken away by the Spanish after the union Aragon-Castille. Only in 1720 it went under the Savoy's house's possession....More

This church dates back to 16th century. You will see different styles, both inside and outside. Interior is quite calm with marble altar and few chapels. Nice, colorful dome. We wanted to enter the tower but apparently it was closed with no information on opening...More

The Cathedral is right in the centre of the town and we must have walked passed it and not realised as it has huge modern looking columns and does not look anything like you would expect an old cathedral to be. The original Gothic doorway...More

This is an amazing looking Spanish style cathedral with all the religious iconography that goes with it. Lovely statues and a sense of calm. Entrance is free so it is worth taking a look.

We went in as we passed the chattedrale on our way to the hotel. Considering the plain outside, the inside is unexpected huge and different to cathedrals in Northern Europe. The main 'eye catchers ' are not gold but marble. Defiantly worth a visit.

The cathedral is situated near Piazza Civica in the medieval town of Alghero, this Church is big and built by the Catalans.

I found it not very inspiring or remarkable. But it takes only a minute to look in. Not a memorable visit.

We visited early afternoon during the week so there was no service going on. Beautiful, ornate and sometimes quite eery church because of the size/height. Its right in the old town centre and difficult (at first) to find, but then you realise that you've probably...More
