What a waste of money. To many people on the tour meant that 75% of the group were not in situ where the guide was speaking and so had no idea what was going on. What should take 10 minutes lasted 30 minutes of excruciating boredom. They should only have a max of 20 on each trip but to maximise profit had 80 and we spent most of the time ignoring social distancing as we had no choice. By all means walk up and down the 654 steps but don’t bother with the guided tour, a computer waste of time.

Biggest tourist trap on the island of Sardinia. I was drenched in sweat by the end of the tour. I was scared for my life as I walked down the slippery rocks since the entire staircase was filled up with big men. Everywhere i looked i saw people dying of thirst. The rocks and guard rails were loose too, i almost saw someone fall off. The nets inside Neptunes Craphole were easy enough to cut off with a small scissor. Don’t come here if u want to experience a relaxing day, you’ll just end up smelling like a pig. They have no water fountains ANYWHERE on the steep, scary hike, so make sure to bring a dozen gallons of water. My foot also slipped on the rocks and I almost hit my head. If you’re over 5’4 this won’t be a good experience for you since you’ll be crouching the entire time. This was the biggest waste of my time and this tour needs to get shut down immediately. I feel like suing for endangerment to my family. I could’ve googled the images of the caves instead of walking for miles. One wrong step on the rocks and you’re done for.

Waiting, waiting, waiting, and some more waiting. Overpriced and overrated. Feared for my life driving up because the guard rails are Wooden. We had to wait 3 hours to get tickets and the employees were rude. They told us big Americans to get out of the way. Very rude. When climbing the mountain I feared for my life once again. Between the loose rocks, wooden guard rails, and lack of proper equipment I almost had a heart attack. I even tripped once and I was close to the edge. I don’t recommend this in any regard. Unless you came to Sardinia to sweat in the sweltering sun, don’t come. Enjoy the nice beaches and gorgeous waters. TOURIST TRAP

The road from Fertilia to Capo Caccia is a beauty. The high cliffs with the turquoise sea of Sardinia are a perfect combination. We did not went to see the famous Grotta di Nettuno but even only the road is very nice.

We took our satellite navigation device to get to the top. There are tours, but they are closed now as the numbers are low. We did our own hike. Once you reach the top after following satellite navigation (as there are no signage) there is no boundaries stating the danger of falling off the cliff. Very dangerous.

Absolutely stunning, with the combination of wild sea and cliff faces this is natural beauty epitomised. Basically the jist is that you can get on the hop on hop off bus from Alghero which takes you here..Note there are audio guides available on the bus and it gives you the opportunity to see some of the beautiful Sardinian countryside....the journey itself is about 2 hours.

When you get here you have to desend down 656 steps....It is on this descent that you will experience the stunning views. The desend down is not as treacherous as some reviews may put it, the steps are wide and there are some intermittent flat areas. However, just remember that as it's 656 steps down...It is also 656 back up again. For those that are less physically inclined this could be a struggle. There is an alternative option of getting a boat out here if you don't fancy the bus and steps...but cannot comment on that particular experience. I would advise that you have a good breakfast/lunch before you venture out here...There is a shop but it only has snacks. There is a solitary toilet in the shop...but there is only one and it's a hole In the ground!

Finally at the foot of the steps you will get a glance into the caves...you can pay to have tour inside. Personally I found the the tour pretty poor for the fee paid but if you made the effort to walk all the way down then you may as well!!

It was a hot day. Thankfully we had lots of water that we took with us. Sun screen and lots of water must. Not spectacular views, just tiresome walk.

Beautiful, great views. If you are planning to go by stairs , it takes 654 stairs to reach the cave.
Cave entry ticket is 13 Euro/person and during your visit to the cave a guide explains you about the cave and its formation history in English and Italian language, though it was hard for us to follow the guide in English may be because it was big group.

Near the place there are no public toilet facility is available, only a restaurant has it but to use washroom you need to buy something from the restaurant, which was totally unacceptable at such touristic place.

Definately worth to see! We went with the beach bus from Alghero, the last stop is the Grotte di Nettuno. Even if you do not want to enter the cave, go down by the stairs, the view is breathtaking. 😊

We abandoned our first trip to the caves just after arriving by car, when we found that credit/ debit cards are not accepted and we didn’t have enough cash! So, after going back to Alghero and getting the cash, we decided instead to take one of the boats from the harbour, which in retrospect was a good decision.

The trip from the harbour to the calves takes around 30-40 minutes, but the views are lovely along the way. Maybe we were lucky, but our arrival timed well with the cave tour, which starts each hour on the hour. The tour itself was reasonably interesting, sound (of the guide speaking) and lighting were very good, and it wasn’t too long, maybe 40 minutes. Once out, we were pretty much straight on the boat to go back to the harbour. Overall 2.5 hours, which was just right for us.
