About
We will show you all the secret corners and tell you the unknown stories of Italy's heel. Also we organize tours covering the whole Italian peninsula and the most popular European region with a special focus on the Mediterranean countries. Alberobello, Brindisi, Lecce & Salento, but also Italy, Greece, France or Spain have never been that close before. Said that, we offer a regular service of shore excursions in order to accommodate the cruise passengers visiting the ports of Bari, Brindisi, Gallipoli, Monopoli, Otranto and others Apulian harbors for only a few hours, but still want to maximize their time and bring back home the best memories from Puglia.

We had a very nice trip to Alberobello and Locorotondo with Giovanni from Tours of Puglia.
Giovanni was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, friendly and patient, eager to share with us very interesting stories.
He also arranged for us a lunch in a typical restaurant with authentic local dishes.
We had a great time abd we were happy to truly feel the local atmosphere.
Thank you a lot Giovanni and Tours of Puglia!

Francesca and Gianluca helped us organize a truly perfect tour of Puglia. We and another couple arranged our accommodations, but they did everything else, including transportation, official guides and drivers throughout our weeklong trip. There was not one hiccup the entire time.

Gianluca arranged for my group of 5 old friends a full day private tour. We visited Ostuni, Alberobello, along with a visit to a family owned olive farm which was very interesting, lunch in a Masseria and a wine tasting- which was delightful as the young lady sommelier certainly knew her stuff. We needed a rest when we returned to our B&B in brindisi. Also, special mention - we were supposed to take this tour in the spring of 2020.............Gianluca held our deposit and honoured it for this trip. Much appreciated Gianluca!!

My family spent 4 days in Bari in October. We booked 2 full day excursions with Tours of Puglia and it was one of the best decisions we made. Weeks before we arrived, Francesca and Gianluca were extremely helpful in organizing and customizing an itinerary which included Bari, Ostuni, Matera, Alberobello and Lecce. They even made further changes during the tours to accommodate our ever-changing interests. Our guide, Vincenzo, and our driver arrived on-time each morning and the tours flowed smoothly throughout the day. Vincenzo was charming, gregarious, and knowledgeable. He combined just the right mix of history, culture, and entertainment to make the tours a memorable and enjoyable experience. Without his expertise, and that of the entire company, it is unlikely that we would have been able to appreciate the beauty and history of Bari and the surrounding region. I highly recommend Tours of Puglia.

The service from booking stage to after the tour itself is great. Indeed it was the first time (after a tour group or private) that I received an email inquiring about the service received.

The tour itself was excellent. We were meet at our hotel by our guide and driver on time. The guide, Katia gave a detailed explanation of the area starting from Bari itself, on to the various areas we passed through on our drive to Alberobello.

Our visit started with a visit of oil farm, then off to Alberobello and trulli. The guide made a walking tour with us through the two Trulli areas. We visited the inside of a trullo and a church who has the form of a trullo. During this walking tour we were offerred a sampling of local products & 3 different wines.

Then off to the last stop in a wine museum. There we had the opportunity to visit the premises and once again taste wine. This time around we sampled 4 different wines.

The price is reasonable for the service offered. Recommendable was the effort of the guide to make the tour extra special offering to take us pictures and seeking spots in the shade and were one can sit during explanation.

Excellent on all grounds!!!

We had a fairly short stop in Bari and Tours of Puglia helped us make the most of our time there. Francesca was always prompt and professional with correspondence when planning our tour, and was patient with my indecisiveness. She answered all of my questions and helped us decide what would be a realistic itinerary, given our limited time. We settled on a tour of Alberobello and a visit to an olive oil farm.

On the day of the tour, our guide, Laura, picked us up at the cruise terminal with a sign with our name on it and led us to our van, waiting nearby. She told us some history of Bari as we drove through the city. Next we went to the olive oil farm, saw their equipment and learned about the different kinds of olive oil and processes for making and bottling it. The proprietor let us sample some of the delicious olive oils, and we bought some to take home with us.

In Alberobello, we learned about the interesting history of the trulli, with their mortarless, conical stone roofs that could be taken down at a moment's notice to avoid paying taxes. ("House? What house? I just have a pile of rocks here.") We visited a trullo church, and finally a shop inside a trullo with a warm and gregarious owner (she was more like a party hostess, really!) who let us taste many, many local sweets, nuts, wines and liqueurs. This shop had a terrace on top where we could get a lovely panoramic view of the hundreds of trulli in Alberobello. On the terrace were also some sample stones and tools where our children could learn how the makers of the trulli prepared the stones for the rooves. We of course bought some yummy things to take home, and the owner, knowing that my children each had exactly 5 Euro to spend, offered them some nice discounts.

After Alberobello, we were transferred directly back to the ship with plenty of time before the "all aboard." We very much appreciated not traveling with a huge herd of people on a ShoreEx bus, being the only people at the olive oil farm, and walking around Alberobello with our own private guide, at our pace. Most of the shops in Alberobello sell exactly the same little trulli and other things, but it was nice to go into a shop with a private guide, to be welcomed so warmly and be able to go up on the terrace. I doubt we would have gotten that kind of treatment had we just walked in off the street. If we ever go back to Puglia, I would not hesitate to book with Tours of Puglia again.

I came across Tours of Puglia by chance here on TripAdvisor and wondered whether the excellent reviews were all genuine. I can assure you that they are! Gianluca went to great lengths to find out what kind of tour would suit my husband and I most, and then he put together a bespoke programme that ensured that our visit to Brindisi and the surrounding areas was an experience to treasure. The tour guide he assigned us, Gianna, was excellent - she is a fluent speaker of English (as well as her native Italian and other languages). Despite the heat, she kept us enthralled throughout the whole of the tour, and her background in art history as well as her profound local knowledge and easy manner enhancing the whole experience. A trip to Ostuni and wine-tasting in Noci are just two of the highlights. If you ever find yourself in Puglia, arrange a tour with this firm - it will turn a good trip into a great one!

We couldn't find any British tour company who was able to plan this holiday. My husband and I wanted to spend a week in Puglia with driver and guide staying in Matera, Alberobello and Lecce but staying in a Stone House and a Trullo. (As we didn't want to drive ourselves, the transport in this area isn't very good and English isn't as widely spoken as in other areas of Italy). We were a bit put off at first because it was a lot cheaper to pay for the tour when we arrived in cash (which we did) and not knowing exactly what accommodation we were staying in but everything was fine.

We got driven round in a Mercedes, the itinerary was exactly as mentioned. The guides and drivers were nice. Some were better speaking English than others. The accommodation was wonderful. Great powerful showers and hot water and great Wi Fi access. The only disappointment was breakfast. One place we only got fruit juice, coffee, yogurt and a piece of cake! We had majority of meals included (we had a choice of lunch or dinner) and the guides recommended places to eat which were really excellent (not the touristy ones). We had a meal on a local family's farm and also a butchery dinner.

It is quite a busy tour so not really suitable for children. If you like sightseeing and want to visit somewhere that isn't full of tourists then this is the place. The places we visited were stunning. Our favourite was Matera. Go before everyone knows about it!!

Dear guest, thank you for your review. Puglia is an amazing land and you're right, Matera is a place that must be seen before everyone knows about it! We're happy you appreciated our staff members and our accommodations, since our philosophy is to welcome and guide people as "guests", as part of our family. Regarding meals, food is surely fantastic in Puglia and there's something for each taste. As per breakfast, it was probably the typical Italian breakfast, which only includes fruit and sweet. We hope you liked it. We really thank you for your contribution. Best regards

I recently just cruised the Eastern Med on Celebrity Silhouette and arranged this private tour. I have no clue why cruisers go with the ships tours--they go in much bigger buses and cost more. I organized this tour for a total of 8 people and it was a breeze to set up! My emails were answered in good order (one has to keep in mind the time difference) I did have to put down a down deposit. I believe I paid that via Paypal. As per their email, they did email approx 1 week prior to the tour, just to give one a comfortable feeling. So everything leading up to the tour was a breeze. Our tour guide was Gianna and she was awesome. A great person and very knowledgeable, she knew her stuff. I think the only minor complaint from the other tour participants was that the vans microphone was not working, so it was very difficult to hear her in the back--but she did repeat the info at the stops. I did mention this to the company and they promptly stated they would take care of it.

Everyone enjoyed the tour, thought it was a very good price. I should mention, when booking tours in Europe, keep in mind their vehicles, tend to be a lot smaller than North American vehicles--so the bus we had was for 14 passengers, but we only had 10, so was nice to have a little more room. As well ensure you know how many open seats are actually available, as sometimes you loose one if you have a guide.

In conclusion, the setting up of the tour went very well, and if you have Gianna as your guide, you are in very good hands.
