A really nice main square with some impressive buildings around the outside and a wonderful old building with arches and a passageway in the middle. Loads of photo opportunities to get some of the statues or even the man playing the piano at the other end of the square. Lots of places to stop for a drink, a coffee or a bite to eat. A must see location in Vicenza but there is not actually much to do in the square other than people watch and take photos.…

A visit to Vicenza would not be complete without a stroll through Piazza dei Signori. It is the main square of the town and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful buildings of Vicenza and architecture of Palladio. On the day that we visited, a Thursday, there was an open air market on the Piazza that spilled out onto many of the surrounding streets. We didn’t find much of interest to buy, but, it did make for good people watching. If you prefer to avoid the crowds and perhaps get a better view of the Piazza, I recommend avoiding the market day(s).…

Piazza dei Signori (Square of the Lords) is the main square of this little gem of a town, Vicenza. During the Roman Empire it was the center of markets and exchange of commercial business, as well as one the main strolling areas of the citizenship.
