These are ruins just in the center of the city of Verona. An ancient roman door that was conected to a street that led to Bologna and Aquleia.

You don't need to go far to see these ruins. They are literally on the street as you wander through Verona. Just another thing to do while in town.

We accidentally found this site while walking through central Verona and its quite interesting, particularly the difference in level between the Roman times and nowadays.

This archaeological site, is well preserved and presented but lacking in documentation comparing it with the rest of the sights in Verona are.

This is a nice archaeological site, well preserved and presented but lacking in documentation which is surprising considering how well labelled the rest of the sights in Verona are. We found this site by accident while walking through central Verona and found it quite interesting, particularly the difference in level between the Roman times and today. The area is surrounded by restaurants so plenty of options to sit and eat while trying to work out what the ruins actually were.

The Lion's Gate adjacent to the pictured Roman ruins is located a few steps from Hotel Antica Porta de Leona. The ruins are surrounded by small shops and quaint bistros and ice cream shops. It is in the center of the old city.

We walked out of our way to see this attraction. If I had to do it all over again, I would not have done it. There wasn't much to see. The attraction is more the idea that there are Roman ruins underground and that the street is cut open so you can view them.

We found this by accident but it was quite fascinating to see.

Its not something I would have visited but if this is your thing then I would imagine it's worth a visit.

The area is well preserved and is surrounded by shops and restaurants in the centre of the old town.
