The products are superb but better yet are the gentlemen who work here. They are always smiling and friendly, even when trying to understand my very poor Italian. Let's face it, pointing and saying "per favore" doesn't really count as speaking Italian. I've been there twice this week and plan to go back tomorrow for more prosciutto (melts in your mouth). And I envision many more trips in my final two weeks in Venice. Can't recommend highly enough.

We heard about this store over dinner and went out looking without a map or directions. We were lucky to find it. There were many options and we were glad we had room in our luggage. The sales people will vacuum pack your purchases for the trip home. Many stores close in the afternoon, so check the hours before you venture forth.

The Casa del Parmigiano is a wonderful revelation in service and product. They are warm and friendly and kind and speak excellent English. In the heart of the Rialto Market it is worth a stop. They will vacuum pack anything you by for travel. The Ubriaco, or drunken cheese, is WONDERFUL. Its like a mix between swiss and aged cheddar. The aged parmigiano was excellent too. Prices are reasonable... far better than in the US. But a great experience all around... if you love cheese, its a must.

We went here on a walking food tour with Food Tours of Venice, the Rialto Food Tour, which took us only to authentic spots where the locals eat and shop - and we were not disappointed with this stop! Such amazing cheeses, olives, salumi, wines - this is a terrific shop, definitely come here!
