The area
Neighborhood: Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.

Finest masks, made with love.
Oct 2019
We found this shop, rather we stumbled upon it by accident. We had already bought some nice masks in another shop, but what caught our interest was the owner sitting behind the front desk and painting a mask. We had a very nice chat, even given the limited english of the owner, learned a lot about how the masks are made and bought another few very nice masks. This shop is specialized on the classic painted masks, all done very nicely, it was very hard to choose. Prices are extremely reasonable, quite the opposite of what I expected, especially considering what you hear about venice.

Beautifully Hand Made
Sep 2018 • Couples
One of the best Mask shop in Venice. Of course hand made and with lot of attention to details. If you look for a long lasting traditional mask hand made in Venice, you are in the right place.
We both found a unique mask that fits us perfectly and that’s exactly what we were looking for!

Tip: Always avoid the cheap options offered in several stalls in Venice as they are cheap copies made of plastic

Beautiful, Hand crafted masks
Feb 2017 • Solo
Saw this place stumbling about the smaller roads, could instantly see the difference in quality between the stall and big shops and this one. I was greeted by the son of owner working on a papier-mache mask just in front of the store, as well as walls lined with stunning masks, each painted slightly differently, and even the "solid" colours displaying gorgeous craft. He told me about the way they produce them, paint them, a little of their history, about how he got into the craft. Very friendly.
Old techniques, and you could even feel the difference in what you were holding, let alone see.
Prices were fantastic, with equally gorgeous ornamental ceramic masks for sale (I got a small one for 5 euros or something absurdly cheap), and the guy there was very patient with the cheap git browsing his art for a deal (me).
It was a superb place to find, I could instantly see just how much better it was than others, highly recommend you visit.

A true artist!

I wanted a to find a couple of handmade Venetian masks to decorate my new shop in Canada. This atelier was just around the corner from our apartment, and I was impressed by the selection and quality of the products. It was hard to choose, but I came away with two classic masks and a ceramic Lion of St Mark. They look beautiful in my shop, I have had several requests to sell them— I may have to start importing Benor’s masks! Thank you for such wonderful service and artistry.

The best
Aug 2017 • Couples
From all the hand-made shops in Venice we came here to buy our two small masks. We believe that the material and the colours are very good. Venice is full of shops that sell masks but we wanted to be patient and choose something that after we wouldn't regret it. When we saw this shop at the 4th day of our visit we knew that this was the one! Father and son are making the masks and after they paint them. It was a pleasure to meet both of them!!

Interesting & Extremely Friendly
Jan 2017 • Couples
We stumbled upon this mask store (well I should say gallery, with the abundance of beautiful masks hanging up) wondering the streets of Venice. Walking in you can clearly tell the difference between the mass produced, imported masks sold by the tourist stores/stalls. The family run shop make their own masks in store using traditional Venetian techniques, while taking the time to help and answer any questions you may have! They clearly know the history of the masks and are enthusiastic in creating beautiful masks.
