Neighborhood: Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

Amazing Tiramisu!!
Everywhere I go I like to taste Tiramisu and there are so many variations.
This is the best yet, even better than my husband makes it.
Lovely to see it being made as well.

If you love tiramisu, make a point to come here. We tried the traditional tiramisu, the green tea + pistachio and the nuttella version. All are excellent and beautifully done. You can watch as the desserts are being prepared at the window. They are not cheap, a smallish cup will set you back between EUR3.50-4.00, but we think it's worth it.
Aside from tiramisu, the bar also serves a small selection of sandwiches. The store sells premium wines, snacks, cookies and other Italian gourmet items.
I don't know why TripAdvisor categorize this as a site/attraction, while it is actually a fine food store cum dessert store.

I used to frequent Venice often when I lived in Italy and Europe, and still always make a point to visit Tre Mercanti. I consider myself a bit of a foodie - not in a snobby way, but just that I love to eat and drink! Everyone knows there is no better eating or drinking than Italian style, and Tre Mercanti is one of the very best to indulge my love of all things Italian!
They have the best selection of gifts to bring home for friends or yourself - beautiful wines, olive oils, truffles, pates etc. They also have the most delicious desserts and sandwiches which make it a great stop in the afternoon for a quick but delicious bite to eat......and sometimes to pick up a bottle of prosecco to sit out and have a romantic picnic in St Mark's!
It is VERY hard to find places with high quality food in a touristy city like Venice, and it seems to me that the people at TM go out of their way to make everyone's visit special, and give them true Italian hospitality! Not to mention that the shop is gorgeous - it is a pleasure just to visit it and stroll through looking at products.
Sorry for the long review, I can't recommend it enough!

If you really want to experience some awesome tiramisu you cannot miss this place. You can find it on one of most frequent routes in Venice (between Marco Polo square and Rialto bridge) and it would be a big mistake not to visit this place. You can see how they make tiramisu. They also make plenty of flavour varieties (we could taste original, strawberry and nutella style and also saw pistachio one). All we tasted were more that just tasty - you could feel the concert of delicate flavours playing in your mouth. And the personell is very friendly and helpful. So go there and share your views.

The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. They are not only knowledgeable about the products but will take the time to help you find the perfect product for your needs. The shop has a great selection and is well worth a visit either for wine or for the sweets. They also ship their wine so if you find one you like it's quite easy to get a few bottles sent home.
For those who are looking for a quick dessert they have a fine selection of fresh desserts and the pride they take in delivering a quality product is quite obvious.

Delicious tiramisu for eating at a standing table or takeaway, as well as other pastries. Great Italian sweets and foods for gifts, as well as alcohol.

They offered a range of flavors! Don't even bother sharing this. You want a lil pot all to yourself to savor!
I particularly enjoyed the White chocolate and raspberry flavor!
Definitely worth the money :)
The service was also really really good.
Make sure you don't go too late because many of the flavors run out.

Are any of your desserts alcohol/wine/gélatine free. We are vegetarians and don't consume any alcoholic drink or animal products.

Hello,
yes we do have flavours without alcohol or gelatine (traditional, pistachio, nutella)
The cream is made with mascarpone (without rennet), pasteurized raw egg yolk and fresh cream, so I think it should be fine for you. Certainly not for a vegan though.
Kind regards.
Roberto
