About
The Orchestra I Musici Veneziani was formed in 1996 and owes its prestigious name to the carefully considered selection of some of the most accomplished of Venetian virtuosos. The Orchestra pays tribute to Vivaldi performing the "Four Seasons" and, with Sopranos, Mezzo-Sopranos, Tenors and Baritones internationally acclaimed, performs "Baroque and Opera," the most beautiful arias of the Baroque period. The concerts, enhanced by exquisite 18th costumes and jewerly, are performed in the wonderful Salone Capitolare, on the first floor of the Scuola Grande di San Teodoro in Rialto, where in addition I Musici Veneziani enact the most famous and beloved Opera of the great Giuseppe Verdi: "La Traviata".

Neighborhood: San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

When we saw the announcement of the concert in our hotel, we decided to try to buy the tickets without any hesitation because after reading the titles of the most world-famous operas, we might easily predict that it would be a perfect way to spend one of the three evenings in Venice. The singers, performing live in their native language, and the orchestra sounded great! Undoubtedly, the the performance, the clothing of the performers and the whole atmosphere created the festive mood of the approaching New Year. Lots of thanks for this event!

An unmissable show in Venice! A great mix of excellent musicians, opera singers and performers dressed with 18th century costumes. It was fun and high entertainment, also for families with teenagers, not only adults. To be done twice !

The performance had wonderful music, fun acting, and lovely decor. You don't have to speak Italian to understand what you are watching. It was a shorter performance than a traditional opera, which is great for the younger crowd, especially the ones that are uncertain of the experience. I had a great time, enjoyed it thoroughly.

The overall experience was great, we loved the concert and we really appreciated the efforts to create the whole setup. What I personally disliked was the public. Very, very rude and uneducated people ruining other people's experience by talking loudly/ recording/ taking photographs/ laughing. I really don't know if organizers can do anything to change this, but it'd mean a lot for a person who goes there to listen to classical music.

Absolutely fantastic performance. This wet way beyond my expectations because of the entertaining performances of singers who really knew how to sing!!
The accompanying orchestra is also beautiful as are the costumes.

We attended the I Musici Veneziani Vivaldi concert whilst visiting Venice. The concert was excellent, in a very nice, historical venue. The quality of the performers was outstanding, really first class, and it really helps you remember that Vivaldi must be experienced life. Really fantastic experience, must see, would strongly recommend it

The show itself was quite interesting and only thing I wasn't sure of if one of the singers was really behaving funny or indeed was slightly drunk. If the first one then it is definitely worth attending, if the second I would suggest to take some measures as from the reaction of his colleagues the second might be the correct answer. Music wise there were some mistakes from time to time so do not expect a high end opera with musicians. Price may be a bit lower for the quality you get. But overall good way to spend one evening.

Dear Customer, we are glad you could appreciate our show. Obviously, in order to be on such a small stage, an excellent stage presence by the soloists is necessary. We guarantee that out of over 50,000 spectators this year you were the only one who considered our tenor "slightly drunk" when it is only very expansive with the public. Come back to visit us as soon as possible

Impressive mastery of the musicians. The lead musician of the Vivaldi's Four Seasons was a real virtuoso! It was easily the best live Vivaldi's concert I went to. I had shivers going down my spine throughout the performance.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. The atmosphere was festive and the costumes beautiful. They even had matching masks:-) The musicians were first class. We especially enjoyed the first violinist who was clearly having fun playing Vivaldi and knew the score by heart. It was a pleasure to watch him play. His joy was contagious.

The venue itself is stunning. Walking upstairs to the concert hall, you get a sense of what life was like when they built this beautiful place. The musicians were outstanding and the costumes simply added to the overall ambiance. The seating is first come first served though so we bought middle price tickets and made sure we were there early, which meant we were in row 4 - so close to the stage.
Yes, would defintiley recommend this if you're in Venice !!
