Neighborhood: San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We came here having read that this was one of the best spots for young adults to go on a night out in Venice. It was quite different than what we expected, but we still had a good time nonetheless. It’s not like a typical American bar scene where there’s space to dance—there are just tables for you to hang out and drink with your friends. My friends and I ordered a pitcher of Sangria that was very reasonably priced and yummy.

Cool little jazz bar. Drinks were reasonably priced for Venice. They provided us some nibbles as well. Easy going atmosphere with hundreds of bra’s on the ceiling, it was a cool sight. It said they charge 12% service on top but they never charged us that.

As not big fans of Jazz we were a little reticent to enter Bacaro Jazz but we are so glad we did. From the moment you enter the great music and decor made for a great vibe. We ordered two cocktails which were promptly served by the very friendly bar staff and even brought to our table. Bacaro Jazz is situated in one of the many narrow alleyways that lead to St Marcs Square and over the seven nights we stayed in Venice Bacaro Jazz became our regular pit stop on our Venetian adventure. We ate their one evening and the food was delicious and reasonably priced in comparison to many other restaurants as Venice on the hole is quite expensive. One quirk which I found very amusing is that for the more adventurous female traveller can remove their bra's and sign them and then it can be added to the hundreds of other bra's of travellers from all over the world that festoon the ceiling of the bar. There is no view of stunning Venice from the bar but the atmosphere more than makes up for the lack of a vista and if you ever get the chance to visit Venice then I would highly recommend seeking out Bacaro Jazz!

This place isn't terrible, but a certain member of staff (the owner, I presume) is.

We sat down here for some late night drinks on the way back to our hotel. Got seats outside no problem, despite it being busy. The server, the only one apart from the guy with the ponytail, was great throughout.

At one point though the guy with the ponytail came outside, cornered the server with his arms up against a wall in the alleyway right across from us and seemed to be speaking angrily at her throughout their interaction. She attempted to pass him to get away and he once again cornered her. Very concerning behaviour and I hope she moves on to better things as nobody deserves behaviour like that from co-workers or their management.

Passing by, called in for one as it looked interesting. Stayed for more than one and came back later. Friendly and helpful staff - remembered my order from the previous visit. Good selection of drinks (well stocked spirit shelf). Good selection of music (not entirely jazz, but good nonetheless)

Stopped off on the way back one evening. Stayed all night. Great atmosphere, all the staff were fantastic, brilliant selection of drinks and what seemed to be the only place in Venice playing good music.

What a find... to say there are few 'bars' in Venice is an understatement... The Venetians hop from small bar to small bar all evening drinking Spritz and eating snacks, which is fun and a great way to see the city, but if you'd like to spend and evening in one place this is the place to go!
The food is fantastic.. excellent sea food and a killer chocolate mousse.
There is a bar too so when you have finished being civilised you can start working your way down the extensive cocktail menu! Ladies - a word of warning - You may find you arrive back at your hotel minus your bra and plus a T-shirt... there are a huge collection of bras hanging from the ceiling from patrons who have made the swap (including mine now, Alfredo is very persuasive!) although Napoli assures us they are all from his ex girlfriends...!
Great music, great food, great cocktails and Marco, Mary, Napoli and Alfredo are the friendliest funniest staff you are likely to meet.

Do you like the Blues and Jazz? Do you like Excellent homemade pasta? Well the Bar Bacaro Jazz has it in abundance. When you come in you'll be met by the host Micheal who will show you to your seat, or perhaps Fredo the owner who'll recommend the days special. A 3 course meal with 2-3 drinks each will cost about £70/$100 but worth it. In the background you have light Jazz or Blues playing (or Micheal's favourite, Old Blue Eyes). If you ask for a beer and thay say Piccolo or Grande (small or big) say Piccolo, a grande is 2 pints or 1 litre of strong itallien beer! I recommend for your main meal Tortellini
Proscuito alla Carbonara, it is heaven. I been going to venice for 3 years now and have spent a lot of time in this place where the staff speak English and Micheal flirts with the women! If you're lucky Micheal will ask you to sign the
vistor's book.
Next year I'm taking my parents. Try it you'll love it
