Murano, Burano and Torcello Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

5,002 reviews
This sightseeing tour allows you to see three islands in the Venetian Lagoon in half a day. Visitors often visit Murano—well-known for its glass-blowing factory—but fewer make it to Burano and Torcello, with their lace-making shops and ornate palaces and churches. The tour also offers two departure times a day, making it easier to fit into your schedule.

I have been to the Italian Language School in Venice twice, once for 2 weeks in 2016 and again for a week in 2019. I've attended schools in the U.S., listened to tapes/CDs, and spent 2 weeks at an Italian language school in Bologna. The Italian Language School in Venice is simply the best. The director, Diego, has designed an exemplary program for small groups and individual tutoring. I've done both and in each instance improved my Italian language skills exponentially. I wanted to improve my conversational Italian, and I was able to do that after each of my sessions at the school. It is family run, casual yet structured, with skilled instructors. I will keep going back (and plan to in April 2021). If you want to improve/learn Italian, this is the best school you could choose. And, bonus: it's in Venice!! It gives you an excuse for an extended stay in what I think is the most beautiful city in the world.

Had another great week at the Venice Italian school in October. It is a family run school where you are always made welcome and where all the teachers are very competent and enthusiastic. Whether you are a beginner or want more advanced conversation, there is a course for you. Highly recommended.

It’s about 5 years since I first met Diego and his sister Lucia, when I was staying in Venice for a long vacation, and I’m so happy I found their school. At that time I’d studied Italian on and off in my home city, but was stuck on a middle intermediate level. Both Diego and Lucia are excellent intuitive teachers. The group lessons don’t follow a struct textbook curriculum, rather they are targeted to the needs of the group and creative in approach. My language and comprehension skills have improved greatly from my experiences in Italy and courses I take at home, but I continue to go back to Venice and to go back to the Venice Italian School to take some individual lessons with Diego. Usually I know what I’d like to concentrate on, but sometimes Diego just listens to me talking at the beginning of our lessons and suggests something additional. This year and last, the goal was to, what Diego calls, ‘italianizzare’ my speaking language, and it’s been wonderfully helpful. If you’re looking for that personal touch in studying Italian on whatever level, this school is one you should look into.

I spent almost all of September at Venice Italian School. I couldn't have been in a better place. Clever, thoughtful and flexible teachers. Well structured small groups. Strong emphasis on conversation, with a focus on the grammar which had featured in the course of the day. Diego, Lucia and their team (a number of Lauras!) can see what is working well (or not) for the group and make frequent adjustments to be sure that everyone has a good experience. Having been to Venice Italian School and had such a good experience, I will not be going anywhere else - I just need to find the time to go back.

I have just spent 4 weeks studying Italian at the Venice Italian School and cannot express too strongly how much I enjoyed the experience. Diego and his team are dedicated professionals who really helped me to gain confidence speaking Italian and were always ready to put in extra effort to make sure I made progress with the language. The classes are organised with a maximum of 6 students, so the atmosphere is very relaxed and everyone is given ample opportunity to participate. The school also offers conversation over coffee (or aperol spritz!) after school hours for those who want to attend, as well as informative walking tours of the city. The Venice Italian School is a small, friendly school which I would recommend to anyone looking to practice and improve their Italian in the wonderful surroundings of Venice
