My name's Luisella Romeo and I am a registered tourist guide in Venice. I run SeeVenice and offer private and semi-private tours in Venice and to the islands in the Venetian lagoon such as Murano, Burano and Torcello. You can also book walking tours in the city, both orientation tours and itineraries along the off-the-beaten paths. Boat tours with private watertaxi along the canals and guided tours to all museums and churches are also included as well as to temporary art exhibitions.

Loved our tour with Luisella! We did one hour on a private watertaxi and then a two hour walking tour which included St. Marks our first afternoon in Venice. This was the perfect way to get oriented in this lovely and unique city. Luisella was knowledgeable and engaging. In addition to the history of the area, she gave us lots... More

If you think that a personalised small group tour at perhaps 40 euros for two hours is a bit pricey, Think Again! Our guide to the Castello, Dottoressa Louisella Romeo, was charming, very informative, and spoke impeccable English (she does German as well). Have a look at the SeeVenice website, where she has a YouTube video, and book with confidence... More

I wasn't sure where to write this review, because Loredana told us she works with a group called 'Best Venice Guides", which has no TripAdvisor listing. But I found her via an original attempt to contact SeeVenice -- the original people I looked at were booked and they all appear to help one another by giving out contact info. I... More

I cannot recommend Luisella more. Her english is great. She is very knowledgeable, humorous, and witty. She interacts with everyone on the tour and tells you more than you ever could have imagined. We did two different tours with Luisella on two consecutive days. She's absolutely fabulous -- one of the best tour guides we've ever had. She led our family of five -- include three teenagers -- on a fantastic tour of Venice, St. Mark's and the Doge's Palace. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and sense of humor is second to none. She has... Luisella was a great tour guide. She was very quick in responding to all my email. We arrange a tour of the major sites in Venice and added a one hour boat tour ( which I would highly recommend !!) Luisella was a fantastic guide - full of information and insights. We loved the tour and her enthusiasm for her city. We came away with a much deeper understanding of the history of Venice as a whole, and we could have spent all day with her! We'll book more tours next time we go - Highly recommended!!!!!

Dear Cindy, it was a great pleasure to meet you and your daughter and to introduce you to the district of Cannaregio and our Jewish Venice. Our family had three tours with Luicella and were delighted with her vast knowledge of the past and present of the city she grew up in. We toured the secret parts of the Doge's Palace. The next day she led us to the artisans of Venice, those that tourists don't usually see. We later returned to purchase some of what... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighborhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
