This is a beautiful church to see, and it is located in Dorsoduro neighborhood of Venice. This where Venetians live. So try and get away from some crowds and go see it.

A wonder standing tall and beautifully illuminated to display its grandeur as seen from the grand canal at night. As a pledge offering to free the city from the plague it stands as a memorial of a tragedy and a promised kept. 'Salute’ is Italian...More

The exterior and interior are one of the treasures of Venice. Built by the great architect Palladio, it is an easy stop on the water bus and should not be missed.

Longhena's beautiful masterpiece with classic proportions. To see it's done is to me the best of Venice. Not much inside to make you enter but gaze at it from the canal.

A most imposing building from outside, plain but elegant inside. Go now before it falls down: it looks in a poor state of repair, like so many churches in Venice. The Tintorettos in the sacristy are not to be missed.

For me the Roman Catholic Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute is (seen from the outside) the most beautiful church in Venice. I think it is more impressive in a way than the St Mark’s Basilica as its white silhouette and two domes stand out...More

This church looks very grand from far away, and is very impressive when viewed from the water. It's also a real treat inside. Another great place for a sunrise photo before the crowds wake up!

As I wrote in most of the reviews of the Venice churches, there is something very typical for most of them, though they are of course different and vary quite a lot... But this particular feeling - the high ceilings, the way the light gets...More

Built to honour the City's pledge during the plague, no expense spared. Picturesque location, light airy church. Only disappointment that they rope off the central area, incl the healing spot!

Vaporetto stop is directly outside the church. No traghetto stop outside. Walk from Accademiia bridge is the alternative way to reach the church. Have a map to help you.
