Murano, Burano and Torcello Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

5,014 reviews
This sightseeing tour allows you to see three islands in the Venetian Lagoon in half a day. Visitors often visit Murano—well-known for its glass-blowing factory—but fewer make it to Burano and Torcello, with their lace-making shops and ornate palaces and churches. The tour also offers two departure times a day, making it easier to fit into your schedule.

The Academy Bridge or Italian Ponte dell Accademia is one of the four bridges that bridge the Grand Canal in beautiful Venice. The rich history of the construction of this bridge makes it extremely significant. It connects the Sestiere of San Marco to the Sestiere of Dorsoduro and constitutes the most important urban innovation carried out in Venice in the years of the last Austrian domination (1848-1866). After the vicissitudes with steel, stone, quite by accident and very quickly (in just 37 days), this "temporary" wooden bridge was built, on February 15, 1933. The architect was Eugenio Miozzi.Today, the Academy Bridge is the only remaining wooden bridge in Venice. Wonderfully.

One of the 2 bridges across the Grand Canal, this bridge provides superb views over the Grand canal. Ideal for taking breathtaking photos of the Venice skyline.

The only wooden bridge in Venice, stretching over the Grand Canal. Not that crowded as Rialto, for eg, but if you want to enjoy it at ease, sunrise or sunset are your best options.

The view of the grand canal is magnificent from this bridge. Also what’s makes it unique is the fact that It’s one of the rare places from where you can enjoy both sun rise and sunset. The sunset view where the dome shines is beautiful and the sunrise is equally beautiful . You can see lots of professional photographers with their tripods here to catch sunrise and sunset

It is a wooden bridge one of only four bridges to span the Grand Canal in Venice. It crosses near the southern end of the canal, links the sestieri of Dorsoduro and San Marco. One can see a handful of love padlocks attached to the metal hand rails on the bridge. The bridge is located next to the Accademia vaporetto station.
