There are great shops for browsing. Prices are typical for designer shops. As most people look in windows rather than go in and the streets are very narrow it does get very crowded here. However, as it is just behind st Marks it is worth wandering down to have a look.

This is the original shopping area of Venice. It's still full of stores. About half are tourist traps, the other half still have something. But it's also ground zero for tourist crowds. It can get unbearable in the area.

Merceria is just at the end of St Marks. Every time we walked along it,it was completely packed with people. It is full of every type of shop. Mostly though it is home to the high end designer shops. An interesting place to window shop or if you’re rich enough find something nice to purchase!!!!…
