I've booked a tour 2 months in advance.. when we arrived in the spot on the day.. no one came. We felt misserable.. we made an appointment for the next day.. Everything was perfect! Francesco even got us a brioche and the tour was on to Poveglia. Very friendly and told us a lot about Venice and the Lagune. We would like to recomment him if you would like to visit Poveglia or Venice Lagune!

I arranged a trip to Poveglia island for my birthday at least a month in advance. Francesco was great, and I even confirmed with him the night before my trip that all would go as scheduled. His meeting point was a long, confusing way from my hotel, so I paid for a water taxi (70 Euros) to make sure I got there on time. I waited for over 90 minutes in front of a church, but no one showed up. Since then, Francesco has stopped answering my emails. He has yet to offer any apology or explain what happened. Please don't spend your money on this unethical company! I've never had a tour company stand me up. :(

We visited Venice in August which meant it was increadibly busy and so for half a day did a tour with Eco Tours around the northern part of the lagoon. The tour was in a small wooden fishing boat, space for 3-4 people. Great fun and very interesting. Giovanni the guide was excellent and very knowledgable. There was also flexibility on the day as to length of the tour and to which island to stop off at. Highly recommend if your looking to get away from the crowds of Venice and see what the islands might have looked like 100s of years ago before it was built.

It was the best experience that I had in Venice. Giovanni is the best guide and I'm very happy to met him and his boat which loves wine :) We sailed the canals of Venice for 2 hours and I saw full moon above the bridge and many interesting places. Giovanni is professional, he steers the boat masterfully even in full dark. Thank you for wonderful trip and the best memories!

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with the other reviews posted. We signed up for the Notturno Veneziano evening tour of the canals. Our flight was cancelled, and we arrived into Venice a day later than we originally planned, but Giovanni contacted us and we made arrangements for the subsequent evening. Our guide, Marco, met us at the Rialto Mercato vaporetto stop. Our first unpleasant surprise was the boat. The description of the tour stated a "traditional boat". I'm not sure what image that is supposed to conjure up, but what actually arrived was an open skiff with an outboard motor. It had a single hard wooden bench seat with no cushions, very uncomfortable for the two hour tour. As the sun went down, it became very chilly. There were no blankets available, and by the end of the tour we were both sore and shivering. The emails with Giovanni had also promised Prosecco and "typical biscuits". In fact, there was neither...Marco said he was running late and did not have time to buy any, so there were no refreshments at all. Marco did provide a nice tour that covered all of the sestierce, but it really wasn't quite what we expected. He told us that he was missing his son's birthday to take us out, which made me feel badly, so when the tour concluded, we paid the agreed tour amount plus a 20 Euro tip, even though we had not received the promised wine. Shortly after we departed the boat back at the origination point, Marco sent me a text message, stating that I had shorted him 10 Euros against the agreed tour amount (we checked our cash and realized it was true, an honest mistake). Rather than just have him take it out of the tip, we agreed to meet him back at the Rialto Mercato station, where we had to wait 20 minutes for him to return for the cash. Altogether, we were pretty dissatisfied with the value of the services provided.
