Buongiorno! My name is Alvise , a very common name here in Venice, used by the doges during the Venetian Serenissima Republic. In English it can creatively be translated in Elvis! I am born and raised in Venice. Done with my studies at the University of Venice in Art History and Conservation of the Cultural Heritage, I decided to undertake the route of a professional tour guide in my city!

Venice behind the veil❤️

This was our Honeymoon and our first time to Venezia, so we had no idea what to expect. Our travel guide, connected us with Alvise’s “The private Venetian guide, and to say he did not disappoint was an understatement.

The second day we arrived we met Alvise in the morning, first thing he educated us in the history and the architecture, we now knew the time period of the architecture based on the design. Without Alvise we had no idea what we were looking at.
With that Alvise whisked us away, it was like hanging out with a local celebrity. A true Venetian, Venice was alive for Alvise, he knows everyone and everyone loves him. He took us most of the historical spots and fully educated us, but he also showed us the hidden Venice: he took us to a secret terraces giving us the best views of the city, his favorite Cafe for espresso, he showed us the real Venice away from the tourist attractions, lead us through the heart of the city. Alvise’s love for Venice and history poured through every minute of the tour, which climaxed with a private water limo, Venice explained by boat and a tour of the Murano glass’s factory. I can not recommend this tour enough, Venice is beautiful, but there is so much to see, and if you want to understand exactly what you’re looking at, nobody better than a the walking “steward” of Art, history, and culture Alvise.
We were both sad when it ended!

More than just a guided tour ... really enjoyed it!!

Alvise was recommended to us by the concierge of our hotel and it was the best thing we could have!
After our first tour with a vaporetto, where he explained us the incredible view of palazzos along the canale grande, we asked him to come back and show us Venice by foot for half a day.
When you join him for a tour you really feel, that he is not just repeating knowledge from a book, but he tells about vital life from born and grown-up Venicean who studied History of Arts and is living for the city. He can make you feel and understand the life of the people in this incredible city in ancient times. Same time, he is funny with himself and the people in his city, knows the best spots for high-class dining as well as the best pizza.
If we come back to Venice, we would be happy to learn more about this city - but only with Alvise!!!

Alvise makes Venice more fun!

What can I say... Alvise is charming, funny, witty, extremely knowledgeable and just as good looking. He’ll make Venice that much more fun! We asked him to take us off the beaten path to understand how real Venetians live and how the city functions and we had the best time! We booked a three hour tour with a one hour boat ride and we could have done two more days! There are so many hidden details, shops, cafes and stories to this city that you can’t appreciate if you haven’t been shown around by a local. We will definitely book him again if we come to Venice! Its just so much more exciting!

The highlight of our trip. Worth every single penny

It was my 9 year old son's dream to go to Venice. I started looking for tours (there are several options) and had this idea of maybe treating us with a private guide. As a great specialist the price is not the same as a collective tour but worth every single penny and more! It was certain the highlight of our trip! He took us to places, shared information and curiosities we would never experience in a normal tour. He is an educated art history teacher ready to answer any questions. He also pointed other activities for us to do, gave us several tips which in a way compensated a lot indirectly for his fee. After going with him around, we knew the town and later we came back to all wonderful tips he gave us. That was priceless It was so fantastic for us, not to mention he is so lovely with children, very patient and you see someone there who loves his city and is very passionate about his job which is sharing his city, it's secrets and beauty with the World. Alvise we loved you. Thank you so much for making our trip memorable.

Amazing Knowledge and FUN!

WOW!!

My girlfriend and I were suprised by our close friend by giving us a private tour of Venice with Alvise. We can not express in words how thankful we are for this experience.

Alvise met us in our hotel lobby, where we first got a 5-10 minutes overview of the history of Venice with great pictures of the past and map of the city. Following that, he first took us around the City to show us some of the more well known and historically important spots (San Marco Square, Rialto Bridge etc.). But then, he also showed us many small hidden gems in alleys where not many tourists would go and told us incredible stories which not many people know, unless you are Venetian and studied Art Histroy (like Alvise).

We ended our tour at a local bar where we enjoyed some delicious tapas with an aperol spritz.

Both, my girlfriend and I felt very comfortable with Alvise and had so much fun during our tour! You definitely are one of our highlight in our romantic get away!!

I appreciate also the fact that you had learned so many things about the venetian life.. having fun too .. ! The Best Private Walking Guide in Venice. Period.

My wife, Amanda, and I booked a private walking tour with Alvise through our hotel (the wonderful, Al Ponte Antico) who said he was great. And he was. But that one word, great, doesn't fully describe Alvise and the service he offers. As a person, he is polite, kind, honest, open, friendly, genuine, and just a good person. He treats you like friends and family in a genuine way that isn't "pasted on" for effect. He's a people person. As a guide, he's deeply knowledgeable, with a degree in art history, and as a born-and-bread Venetian, knows every nook and carney of the city and will tell you not only what to do buy how should do it in the best way. As a local, he knows everyone in town. As we walked with him, he was saying quick hellos to friends and acquaintances who he'd grown up around and know him will. In fact, we dropped his name at certain places upon his recommendation and the "welcome mat" opened up in more personal ways for us. So, do yourself a favor and hire the best guide in Venice. Let him know Mike and Amanda said, "Hi!" :)

Amazing! Funny! Perfect!

We took a private tour through and around Venice with Alvise. Three hours, starting with a wonderful boat, then walking. It was really a pleasure. We learned a lot about the city, the people, the culture and - also very important - laughed a lot. Venice from sides and with views we didn't know although we have been there a couple of times.

So if you plan to do something like this in this amazing city - we highly recommend this literate, smart, funny and charming Venetian.

Alvise is a charming, very knowledgeable guide who will show you a Venice that you won’t discover by guide book or tips from the web. Born and bred here, with a deep passion for the city and it’s history, Alvise wasn’t afraid to speak about why he also wants are more thoughtful tourism in this wonderful, but also fragile, city. Book him, you won’t regret it.

Best day in Italy...best tour guide in Venice

We took the "Venice by Land and Sea" tour with Alvise. He was truly the perfect guide. He took us to places we never would have found on our own. Alvise "Elvis" was knowledgeable about the art, history and culture of Venice and was able to relate easily to our family with diverse interests and 2 teenagers.

He magically navigated us through the intricate maze of Venice streets and gave us an "off the beaten path" experience then whisked us into a beautiful luxury boat to see Murano and surrounding islands. We felt like celebrities!

We will recommend him to our friends and family!

If you want an incredible journey…book Alvise

Professional. Knowledgeable. Local. Fun. Accommodating. Great communication before and after. Just a few words to describe Alvise. We contacted Alvise and provided him with some things we wanted to do. Then we asked for his recommendations to fill the remainder of the day. He did not disappoint. In fact, above and and beyond what we expected. We only had to show up at our meeting point. Alvise handled everything else. All tickets - no standing in line and priority entrance for everything we did. Alvise knows his way around the buildings so we took shortcuts to avoid crowds and lines. His knowledge is impressive and being a local provides that extra layer of information. Everything from Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica, private limousine water taxi to have incredible water views, private tour at Murano Original Glass Factory to watch the artist in action, private taxi for transport between islands, incredible lunch where we found the owner entertaining and providing wonderful food, and a few unexpected stops Alvise planned. One provided us with the most incredible view of Venice. We walked streets I did not know even existed! I could ramble on but words will never capture how wonderful our journey was so….just book — this is the only guide you need!
