Neighborhood: Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

    Perfect
What an absolutely fantastic evening. A very small, intimate club. The music was outstanding and the main man (pianist) introduced each piece with some great humour too. It’s a must if you visit Venice so make sure you book in advance.

    Fantastic Jazz Club
We arrived enthusiastically rather early (7.30pm ish) and had the place to ourselves for the next hour! We knew the music didn't start until 9pm, but we wanted to grab a bite to eat there. We were informed that there was only the cheese and meat platter on offer that evening. Now, we could easily have gone somewhere else for food if we wanted, but to be honest we were happy to just have the platter and it was great, we didn't go hungry! The staff were lovely and made us feel at home throughout. The music was absolutely brilliant and the room was intimate, tables being generally arranged for two people. We were seated right at the front, which we loved, but ever the thoughtful host, Fredrico asked if we were happy with our table as we could move to another table if we preferred. This was a highlight of our trip to Venice, Fredrico and his band were just fantastic. Some great tunes and I just couldn't keep my feet from tapping along! If we return to Venice we would jump at the chance to return. We will be recommending to anyone we know visiting Venice in the future! Grazie Mille!

    World Class Jazz
Absolutely a wonderful experience. World class jazz musicianship. Small intimate venue. Federico, the pianist, warmly welcomed us and we felt as if we were in his living room. He was really entertaining and his banter sounded fresh as if it was just for us - even though he must repeat portions of it in order to perform night after night. One of the highlights of our trip! I’m not sure the Venetians fully appreciate what a treasure they have there. This happy memories stay with us as we return to Israel, where the situation is grim.

Fantastic. Just go, you'll love it.
Was not sure whether I liked jazz before we went but what a great evening we had. The owner, who was also the compere/pianist for the his four piece group was fantastic. He added great humour to the evening which made the atmosphere relaxed and would definitely go back.

    Uplifting musical experience in Venice
The Venice Jazz Club is Fantastic! The warm atmosphere and incredible music was my favorite part of Venice. If you're a jazz fan or any music fan don't miss it. The musicians are great and there is nothing like a small room like this to feel it and hear the universal language of Jazz.

    Nailed it. Perfect.
Sublime. The absolutely 'nailed it' for me. I love the standards. They played them beutifully. I play myself. They play much better than me :) The atmosphere was spot on. The compere... ill leave that as a surprise! If you like an intense listen to Jazz this is perfect. Its not dance around the room - its intimate and focussed. Could not reccomend it more - We will be back!

    Go!
Just came back from a great evening of standards. Whether you're new to jazz or an old hand, you'll appreciate this show. From the outside, the venue looks like a junk shop - a good sign! The semi-cleared hoarder's basement vibe is a classic for jazz clubs. The music was excellent. If we were regulars to Venice, we'd be regulars here. Glad we made it on our, likely, only trip to the city.

    Highly recommended jazz club
Small venue with a big heart! First drink included in ticket price. 4 musicians ( piano, drums, guitar, double bass) and a guest (alto piccolo )saxophonist from USA on our visit. Excellent band, our teenager enjoyed the experience too! We pre booked to arrive at 8:30, music starts at 9

    A great night in Venice
This was one of our favorite nights in Venice! We made reservations online, went early to eat dinner. It was delicious lasagna with some good wine. Then we stayed for the music, which was fantastic! Frederico is a great host, and a kickass pianist too! The band played straight-ahead jazz, and we wished it lasted longer. Loved it!

    Cozy and intimate
This was a real find out of the main huddle and bustle of Venice. It’s a small venue with extremely friendly staff. We saw the resident band, the leader multitasked as pianist welcomer and manager. He was witty and the band were great. They helped us tremendously by ordering g and showing us where to pick up our water taxi. It was a great welcoming evening would highly recommend.

The experience in here has been "interesting", but not in a positive way: the resident band was ok, the place itself is cool and jazzy looking, the owner seemed pleasing in the beginning, saying every table was booked, but there was a chance if we could have tried later in the evening.
So we went back around 22.30, there was a table available, a bit hidden by a column -several of them are- but, that's jazz baby, you just need your ears to enjoy; we found out there was a ticket of 20€ to pay, which sounds fair if you know it in advance, but no one told us before.
The worst part has been at the end: after 30-40 minutes the band finished to play, they all disappeared, and in another 15 minutes we have been asked to leave, for the place was closing. Before midnight! A so called jazz club...
Maybe good to trick tourists arriving to Venice.

If you are a jazz fan the Venice Jazz Club can’t be missed. It’s a small venue less than 5 minutes from the Ca’ Rezzonico water bus station in Dorsoduro district. You can also get to it from either the Rialto or Academia bridge, just will need to walk further.
The venue is small and intimate. Music starts at 9. We did not have a reservation but if you do reserve ahead of time you’ll have a better table. Best way to reserve is email the venue. Limited food is served 7:30-8:30. It stops then because Frederico, who will greet and take your order is also the piano player. Food options are basically lasagna, risotto, and a cheese and meat tray. We had the meat/cheese tray. Big serving for two
Now for the music. 5star. Each of the musicians were at the top of their craft. I’m a musician myself and I appreciate the the art of the craft.
Piano, stand up bass, drum kit, and guitar musicians the night we were attending
Frederico, not only being a great musician, he was a humorous and very engaging emcee.
This is a great night of fun. Take a night away from all the touristy things that Venice offers and relax and smile for a couple of hours

All of the musicians are top notch professionals. The music was superb. I requested a song “Four” by Miles Davis and the owner/ band leader graciously played it. Make reservations or get there early because they have specific hours for food and music. If you want good jazz played by good musicians then this is the place to go. Don’t get caught up in the reviewers who go there to rate the food and ambiance. It’s just what it is a great place to go hang out and hear good jazz in Venice

Whoever loves live music should pay the Venice Jazz Club a visit. The band around the owner Frederico is very talented and and can easily transfer her enthusiasm for jazz to the audience. The club has a great atmosphere, We also had dinner at the club. The small selection of dishes tasted delicious. We will for sure be back.

Was recommended by a friend in the UK and glad we went . We were shown to our table by a delightful host , who later turned out to be the owner and very very talented pianist .
Federico runs a intimate club with a great band and this night the quartet were joined by Mark Morganelli on trumpet .

When people describe their visits to Venice they talk about canals, gondolas and St. Mark’s Cathedral. When I think of Venice I transport into The Venice Jazz Club and get enveloped by the magical sounds of jazz and an incredible ambience of the club. The Venice Jazz Club is truly a unique place that makes you fall in love with Jazz forever! Thank you Federico, Nicola, Peter, Marco and Max for giving us this amazing experience, for charing with us your magic world, you are incredibly talented! Special thanks to the staff for their service! We will definitely come back and it’s absolutely the place to spend a memorable evening when in Venice!

We had a brilliant evening. The host, Frederico, was very welcoming, then as everyone sat down ready for the house band to start he turned into the jazz pianist, and a brilliant one at that. Great tunes and really good jazz music, such a great evening.

Cosy surroundings, great atmosphere, cool jazz - there’s nothing here to dislike. Federico is a very welcoming host who can switch from serving you drinks to tickling the ivories effortlessly - we especially wanted to visit after reading his hilarious responses to poor reviews…priceless. Good drinks selection, lovely charcuterie plate, reasonable prices, and a great gig to boot. We will definitely be visiting again next time we’re in town.

We went on our last night in Venice hoping for a great final memory and we weren’t disappointed. We saw the resident VJC band and they were all great musicians that played great together. Their music was a great selection of Jazz Classics and Blues and were really great entertainment. Thoroughly recommend this for a great night although I’d say book early because I would expect it to be in high demand!
