We tried this on the back of the TA reviews so thanks to all you reviewers! We actually didn't find this hard to find but understand from the reviews that some people did. There is only some lights over the door and no sign that you can see until you are right in front so maybe that's the problem. Google... More

Quaint little place that felt like a café. The band was amazing. They played jazz music from all over the world. Wanted to go back the next night.

We visited during the European cup, so it was very quiet. The music was excellent and it is an atmospheric club. The food, pasta/risotto was simple, but fine. They don't claim to be a food venue. The wine was truly awful. A shame and not necessary. This was a tricky benue to find.

We visited when finding this club on trip advisor and booked a table on the same day through the club web site. As mentioned by previous reviewers it is privately run and the owner is the piano player and main waiter to take your drinks and food orders when you arrive. It is not a restaurant and does not prepare... More

We've been there for a cuban and Brazilian jazz concert and the performances were just fantastic! That night the club had only 12 people total Including the 4 musicians and the waitress, still, highly recommended.

For a different side of Venice from what you'd normally get, swing by VJC. We went at 9pm on a Wed night - there were only 5 or 6 other people in the club (which seats about 30-40) and maybe some people don't like that but we didn't have a problem with it as we were there for the music... More

Went to the VJC with my dad and two cousins. We turned up early to have food and got a warm welcome. The music and evening were great, they clearly enjoy what they do and are damn fine musicians. Funny too. So good in fact we went back for more.

Would recommend it. Small club with relaxed vibe and genial host, who turned out to be the pianist! A bit tricky to find as the street numbers didn't seem to correspond, but the door was open as we walked alongside the canal. Was about to go in to ask directions then realised we were in the right place! Excellent musicianship,... More

It's delightful to find a lively night spot with entertainment in the charming yet quiet night scene in Venice ... It's near the academia station A small jazz joint ... It was a Latin Jazz theme night ... A quartet lead by a witty story telling pianist

We went to the Miles Davis tribute night in the VJC and had a fabulous time. Four really good tight musicians playing Miles and others ,with no trumpet ,but it didn't matter. Very relaxed ,very friendly ,very small. Book early if you can.The host is a hoot, plays a mean piano ,waits on tables before the set and washes up after.... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
