Venice is so overwhelming you bypass many monuments and squares without a thought. This monument and many others are virtually unnoticed when you get lost in the streets of Venice. I wished I would have taken more time to even take a picture of it.

This statue stands in Campo San Bartolomeo and I am sure that hundreds of people pass by every day without giving a moment's thought to who Carlo Goldoni was. We were lucky enough to see translations of his plays many years ago in Glasgow.
