Just next to Santa Maria Miracoli Church, with Ponte del Paradiso guarding its entrance, Calle del Paradiso is an alley famous for its ancient wooden overhanging eaves.

A small lane of 20 meters long. One of many Venetian details and landmarks. It is located in a place that being in Venetia you will pass by twice a day.

Walking through the back streets of Venice, we happened upon this arch with a sculpture of the Madonna. Research shows the Madonna facing the street protects two worshipers, a nobleman and a woman. On the side facing the bridge, she protects a friar, another worshipper. There is some controversy as to the origin and date of the Gothic-style arch. It can be seen at the end of the Calle del Paradiso.
