365 day clock with the time being told by the 4 corner movement. I would say larger than the one in Venice and more orrnate beautiful site.

The astronomical clock overlooks the Piazza del Signori, my favourite of the 3 piazzas in close connection in the historical old Padua. Lots of small restaurants and cafes with seating on the piazza, lots of socializing and relaxing. The clock itself is beautiful.

The square was full of market stalls and people with the old astronomical clock looking down as it has done for centuries. It is a fascinating Piazza to explore and well worth visiting the covered market hall full of meat and cheese stalls.

A little like Venice...this clock tower reminded me of Venice. Great square. We were there on a Sunday...full of locals celebrating life! We liked Padua very much. We came here via Verona and it is similar. Geat to walk around. Portico's everywhere and we felt like we were in the middle ages.

Amazing sight at a market square, built in 1430, it stands till this day. At the base of the tower, the great triumphal arch was added a hundred years later in 1531.
