Padua is an easy and cheap day trip from Venice in the train and I was really surprised by how few tourists were around. It is a beautiful and compact city full of historic squares and buildings, and without the cruise ship masses that spoil...More
One doesn't expect to experience pouring rain when you visit Padua in May, but when we came for the day it poured down all day.

Parking in Centro Storico of Padua is limited. When we go to Padua we park the car in a huge multilevel car park close to the station. (There are several options besides this car park) Centro Storico is a 10 minutes walk. The Scrovegni Chapel is also on walking distance of the station, but in a slightly different direction.
Enjoy your visit.
