The municipality streches over a lot of building. The Moroni palace is on the opposite side of the street where you fing the Palazzo Bo - university, and just few steps from the famous Caffé Pedrocchi.

It is a beautiful building in the city center of Padova. It is used for the administration and the city council of the city of Padova. In one part, there are also somtimes some interesting temporary exhibitions. I visited an exhibiton of Paola Caenazzo with paintings from Padova.

This gorgeous building is actually the Town Hall of Padova.

Slap-bang in the centre of town, near the Caffè Pedrocchi.

The Palazzo Comunale, the seat of the government of the city of Padua, is part of a large complex of buildings that extends through the historic center of the city. The locals refer to it as Palazzo Moroni, because it was originally a project of Andrea moroni. It is located on the via Covour, across the street from the Palazo Bo, the oldest building of the historic university of Padua. To the North, across the street is Caffe Pedrocchi, an historic coffee house in Padua. Behind palazzo Moroni is la Torre degli Anziani, and through it, you arrive to the Palazzo della Ragione, also part of the complex. The Palazzo was started in the XIII century and remodeled in the 1500s. As a consequence, the visitor will find characteristics of different architectural styles. Its original medieval style is well preserved in beautiful white stone, with wide arches and a majestic entrance. However, the Venitian architectural style of the XVI century intrudes as a result of its major remodeling. As you enter the central courtyard, a colonnade goes all around the building on the ground floor, with exquisite stone carvings on the walls and around the windows of the second floor. It matches the style of the Palazzo Bo across the street. It is crowned by a large campanile, on top of which stands an angel.

The impressive facade, with its big arc, statues and tall tower, crowned by the statue of an angel, immediately calls attention - and it should. But there's a bit more to be seen past the arc. The inside is very well maintained, and presents a variety of things to look at, from diverse buildings, to statues, to ornamental plants, to a view of the tower from an interesting alternate angle. It doesn't take long to see, and it's time well worth it.
