The renovation occured recently has just made this garden even more interesting and amazing. It has a great tradition, but now with all the new green houses and the green technology it is really worth a visit!

Such a surprise to find that crocus, lily of the valley, holly, delphiniums and other garden favourites are poisonous, but this is just one of the surprises of the Botanical gardens. The geometrical lay out, the ginko, Goethe's palm tree in its glass pagoda, the hothouses (such a pity the orchid house was closed). The little leaflet you get with... More

I was amazed of the multitude of plants in this garden. Also, loved the layout. Definitely gave me a few ideas about my garden.

A lovely oasis in the city with a fascinating history. Founded in 1545 the garden requires and receives constant maintenance to keep its plants flourishing! At only 5 Euro admission it's excellent value for money.

The Orto Botanico as it is known, is run by Padua University and is a beautiful place to spend a couple of quiet hours. I was in heaven here as it was an especially hot day and love doing macro photography. The choice of colourful flowers is almost bewildering and the light through the trees made for great photographs. A... More

It was so beautiful and it was nice to be there in the middle of green and beautiful plants and flowers in a hot summer day. And the old plants and trees are interesting.

I am usually not a big fan of botanical gardens but this one is simply put beautiful and rich. Stroll around for an hour or so and take million pictures of the hundred and thousand different species here.

One of the oldest university botanical gardens in the world. These gardens are hidden with one entrance at end of a small street in the centre of Padova. They are pleasant to relax in and each area in the garden is themed.

After visiting the cathedral next door we walked over to the garden. We were surprised by how much we liked it. Being a forester by education I was surprised to see so many North American species, and I was fascinated by similar species from around the world. The garden encompasses all sizes of plants, from flower pot size to very... More
