My wife and I were traveling with AHS the American Horticulture Society. This garden was fantastic and a real surprise. It is well documented and is presented real well. We just wish we had more time to review look at and investigate. Since tours have to keep on schedule, we were not afforded nearly enough time. Maybe another time when... More

A place to visit more than once... and discover it gradually. The approach is a bit didactic - you will meet school classes and tourin cars hasten, just seeing the highlights such as Goethes Palm tree... Personally I prefer stay here a bit longer, alone, with a book, and see only part of it... The architecture of the new part... More

We struggled to follow the signs to get there but it was worth it. Interesting history added to by up to the minute bio domes. Would be great for kids.

We walked for over an hour circumnavigating the whole park searching for the one and only small entrance to this UNESCO World Heritage site. So be sure that you have a good idea where the entrance is before you start your trip. GPS does not specify the exact location of the entrance..

We visited on an extremely hot day, which made walking about a bit of an effort. The gardens are not huge, as compared to many in Australia, but it is the History surrounding them that makes them special. Paying to enter a Botanical Garden was something we are not used to at home, It is a Unesco Listed Site and... More

we spent several days in the botanical garden and we sensed the centuries of caring for plants - a wonderful display in the Mandala design of the garden, a remembrance of the palm of Goethe (unfortunately not free standing but imprisoned - or protected). And the new greenhouses with the different ecosystems and a modern description of ecosystems and changes... More

Our first visit to this wonderful place was an event never to be forgotten. Kudos to those who took part in making this happen. A big learning experience and I would recommend it for visitors

This is NOT for the amateur gardener. I have visited Gardens all over the world and this was pathetic. It may be for the academic, but at the price they charge for entry, they should be embarrassed. Go elsewhere, DON'T waste your money.

It’s amazing that such a place should be located so close to the city centre of Padua but I suppose that when it was founded in 1545 it was probably on the outskirts of the city. Apparently it is the world’s oldest academic garden still in its original location and largely to the original plan. The main garden is contained... More
