This is a must see for Padua area - beautiful basilica! Wasn't very busy which made it easy to see everything and no wait to see the relics. Visit was made even more special by one of the priests conducting blessings in one of the small chapels which we absolutely loved!

It was the last thing I saw in the city and I almost didn't go since it is on the edge of the tourist zone and old city. It is SO worth it... the interior detail and the tomb and relic of St Anthony are both fascinating places. It should be the top of your list in Padua.

World famous pilgrimage basilica is a great art treasure. Construction began in 12th centuary, the exterior is a mixture of romanesque and gothic style, with bizantine elements. The interior of the church is rich with decorated chapels, there is a chapel of Sant' Antonio, his chin and his tongue are displayed in a gold reliquary.

It's really really huge and you feel overwhelmed when you step in. It's really nice decorated, all the walls and all it's interior. There are St. Anthony's relics inside, and his tomb. Many cultural styles are combined, and it's a lot to take in, but it's worth it.

This is a truly original building, which is a compendium of many styles which, almost, come together in a pleasant way. It is a huge building with some of the architecture resembling the orient, even more than San Marco square. It is worthwhile walking around the square to have a different perspective. Inside there are great masterpieces by Donatello and... More

The Basilica of St. Anthony is huge and ornate, so a trip here is rewarding. As the shrine for the saint, however, it has a lot of spiritual significance, too. I was very impressed by his elaborate Renaissance tomb, and even more overwhelmed by the reliquary chapel. There are museums at the Basilica of St. Anthony (entry fee), as well... More

This is a place of pilgrimage. What I know is that he was a Franciscan. You can go and pray for the singles so they can find a match. The architecture and relics are amazing. They have a store of natural remedies like homeopathy, which are made in monasteries.
