During the day, a typical market place with its stalls where locals go shop for grocery. In the evening in turn, the whole marketplace is equipped with cafe/restaurant tables, a true evening food celebration. Good restaurants available - you will leave this place with full stomach and a smiling face!

The center of the plaza is a building with a beautiful clock. There are shops and cafes all around the plaza. A great place to have an evening drink

A beautiful Piazza in the heart of Padova, buzzing with coffee shops and restaurants. It houses the most exquisite clock tower built after the Venetians conquered Padova as a symbol of power and status. You can get a tour inside the clock to see the ancient but still operational workings of a medieval clock.

We visited this Piazza during our recent tour of Italy. This was one of the largest Piazzas we saw on the tour. We were there on a Friday night, and it was completely taken over by the surrounding restaurants. The place was buzzing with people enjoying a meal and each other's company. There is one small fountain in one corner.... More

In this square you will find the big astrological clock on the white tower of Palazzo del Capitanio. Also you have the markets that are held in this square as well as the Piazza delle Erbe. Also in the Piazza dei Signori are many attractive small speciality shops and cafes. Most attractions are well sign posted for pedestrians in Padua.

What a lovely place to sit, eat, chat and watch the day go by. Loads of bars and restaurants to chose from and set in a lovely plaza with views to the west of the interesting clock tower. The bars don't seem to be overpriced either given where and what it is.

This beautiful piazza is a must visit during day+night. During the day there are markets, and in the afternoon restaurants and coffeeshops spread their tables and chairs which makes this square a great place to sit and grab a drink. All restaurants, gelaterias and bars are of great standard

Wonderful place to top for a drink and rest the feet while walking Padua. Touristy, yes but there are not that many tourists who stay overnight in Padova. During the day it has shops etc.

The piazza is full of restaurants, full of life and laugher. Tourists and locals intermingle, this is café society at its best. The piazza is covered by tables in the Summer. This is one of the oldest, and one of the most civilised place on earth.
